The walk to the shop wasn't that long. I expected it to take a lot longer, so when we got there within 10 minutes I was surprised.

"Ladies first" Jackson said as he opened the door and gestured for me to walk in. All the while, he gave me one of his award winning smiles.

I smiled back and made a curtesy motion."Well thank you sir", I said trying not to laugh.

All around us were shelves of antiques. The floors were a black sparkly tile and the walls were painted a bright cherry color. He had skulls and bones, pots and vases, old clothing, and anything you would find in a normal antique shop. Except something about it was different, almost magical feeling. And I loved it!

I stood back in awe as Jackson stood by my side.

Jackson nudged me in my side making me jump a little.

"So you like?" Jackson whispers in my ear making shivers run through my body.

"Yeah",I mumble still admiring the store.

"Jackson! Long time no talk. where ya been?" a man asks who I'm guessing is Ronnie.

Ronnie looks like the type of guy who would hang around with Jackson. Tattoos cover his arms and neck area. He's wearing black skinny jeans(that look quite tight in my opinion) and a leather vest over a white tank top. He has quite long hair for a man and it's parted to the side with half of it buzzed of I'm guessing. Yup I see why Jackson and him are friends.

Ronnie walks up to Jackson and they do a weird bear hug thing while I'm standing to the side. Um awkward.

They start to talk and since their paying no attention to me, why don't I go look around? I'm sure I can keep myself busy.

I spin on my heal and start to walk in the opposite direction of them down one of the aisle. I happened to walk down a recipe aisle. Well this isn't gonna be as exciting as I hoped. I don't wanna look at recipes the whole time.

Sighing I make my way out of the recipe aisle and walk down another one, a couple aisle down. This one has a whole bunch of knick-knacks. I pick up what looks like a dream catcher. I run my fingers over the smooth feathers and beads that hang on it. Carefully I set it down and move on to another item.

Something catches my eye in the corner of my eye. I walk over to where the item is on the shelf.

A picture of a girl no older than 17 is standing in a field of grass that comes just below her knees. A blue sundress is on her body with her blonde hair flowing around her. Her eyes aren't even there really, in place are black scribbles. She's staring back at me with an emotionless expression.

She seems da even though theirs no emotion evident on her face. The picture gives me an urge to help the girl and tell her to get out I the field but I can't. It's just a picture.

I go to set the picture down but all of a sudden it starts to shake. My eyes widen and my hands start to shake with the picture. I grip the golden frame tighter so the picture won't slip out of my hands.

I want to scream because the frame is starting to heat up and burn my hands, but I can't find the words at the moment. I open my mouth but nothing comes out, not one sound.

It's like the picture starts to come to life. The girl in the picture turns her head and behind her and I realize that her eyes are no longer black, their a shade of blue now. She turns back around so she's facing me and her eyes are filled with horror.

A black mass comes from the field behind her and she opens her mouth I'm guessing to scream. At this point tears are streaming down my cheeks and I hear Jackson in the background, but I can't bring myself to move my eyes from the picture.

The black mass is almost like black smoke. It then reaches out and forms hands, I'm assuming. I know what a next and I don't want it to happen.

I'm feeling emotions that aren't mine and I have no self control. I'm scared and feel weak. The tears are stinging my cheeks and my legs are starting to shake. I want to move but I can't. I feel an arm trying to pull me away from the picture but I physically can't and mentally don't want to. I jerk my shoulder away from the hand, but I have no control over my actions. I have to watch this girl. I need to.

The black mass quickly coils around the girls small frame and consumes her to the point where she is barely visible.

All of a sudden my airways start to feel like they're being constrained and I'm struggling to get air through my lungs. I start to gasp for air but it's not working. My hands are now numb from the heat of the frame and my lungs are burning. Black spots start to fill my vision and I decide to stop struggling.

The black spots consume my vision and my knees give way as I make contact with the floor and completely lose consciousness.

Authors note
