Trouble

Sighing you turned around to look out at the ocean. Your smile never disappearing. Looking over a ship was signaling to make connection with the one you are in.

“Oh shit! That's the governments ship! Fuck fuck!” Running back and forth in panic with  your tongue twisting out you trip on Crocodile.

Dragging him along you shove him in a crater. “I ain't going back to prison.” The ships connect and you hyperventilate for a bit thinking where to hide.

Going up the top level deck you listen carefully in a closet. Sounds like Aokiji talking. “No I've never seen this prisoner.” He says sternly. “But I'll keep this paper and have everyone on look out.”

“We received an anonymous tip that she was on this ship we will search for her. If you are keeping a prisoner hidden from me I'll have to kill you. But if she's hiding here without your notice we will let you go. Just want you to know the anonymous call informed us of the prisoner being ranked as a Petty Officer signed by your name.”

That voice! That's Rob Lucci! Damn it! Not again! Might as well chill in this closet! And just fucking die!

For the entire day they searched the ship. “Call in all the Petty Officers.” Lucci demands toward Aokiji and Aokiji stands there for sometime.

You were a prisoner, running away from the government. But why would you join the Navy to run away from the government? Shaking his head Aokiji holds the snail fighting to give out the command. Wherever you are he hopes you escaped.

“All Petty Officer's report to the first level deck!” Aokiji says out to the snail and after some time everyone lined up including yourself. Lucci walked past all the men and women who were ranked as Petty Officers even passing you.

Lucci stops in front of you seeing your wide white smile. The anonymous caller gave plenty of tips including that everyone called you Smiley. Lucci reaches out to your hat.

Aokiji raises his head up seeing Lucci touching your hat. But you remained still with your smile not even seeming phased or panicked. If you start attacking, Aokiji will have no choice but to take the government's side.

Lucci lifts your hat up slowly and Aokiji waits to see your hair flow down but it doesn't. Nothing escapes your hat, no waves of beautiful soft hair curling down. Lucci removes your hat completely his eyes steady with no expression.

Aokiji on the other hand, his eyes grew wide not believing what stood before Lucci. “Does everyone call you Smiley?” Lucci asks in such a dead tone. “Yes sir, they call me Smiley because I'm always smiling.”

Lucci shakes his head understanding and settles back the hat turning his heel to face Aokiji. “What a waste of time.” Lucci says popping his neck. “We will be leaving now.”

Lucci waves his hand signaling and a sailor is being brought along. The sailor who made the anonymous call. Lucci recognized the voice of the solder from the phone call and had him arrested just in case.

Aokiji watches the sailor being dragged away by his feet, beat up for making a false call.

The ship sails away and you step out dressed as a regular sailor.

“Thank you Amanda.” You hand her a bag and she reached out accepting it. “Anytime, Smiley.” She follows you to the closet where you both come out after some time.

She was back dressed as a regular sailor and you were back in your Petty Officer uniform. Finding Aokiji you decided to avoid him but the floor below you froze your feet in place. Turning to look at him he slowly walked to you stopping in front of you.

Both of you looked into each other's eyes you were not sure what was going through his mind. His arm reached out removing your cap and your waves of hair gently settled down. Grinding his teeth he clenched his hand into a fist shaking furiously.

What can he focus on? He was pissed that you didn't inform him that you were a god damn prisoner of the government. He was relieved that you were safe. He was confused on why he defended you. He was now a liar when he made an oath to arrest anyone under the watch of marines and the government. What hurts him the most is that you just tried to avoid him all over again.

But the worst feeling was that he felt used. Was this your plan? Is this why you chose to be under his watch? You new he would defend you.

“Why didn't you say anything?” You ask first actually curious on why he didn't say the truth. “The only reason I had a sailor be me was because I heard you lie to Lucci. I didn't want you getting in trouble.”

Aokiji freezes hearing you admitting that you care for him. “Is this manipulation?” He asks calmly but you can hear his voice straining his anger.

“No. I am hiding from the government. But I'm not using you for my protection.”

Aokiji felt the small feeling of relief behind his mind. You are terrifyingly brilliant. “Why are they after you?”

Smiling you chuckle a bit. “I actually don't know. One day I was walking down the street and next thing I knew I was fighting Lucci. Before I knew it, I was in chains.”

Aokiji watches you chuckle clueless you're not lying you really truly do not know why they are after you.

Aokiji moves in closer his arms wrapping around you tightly in an icy hug. Right now he was just so relieved that you were alright.
