24. A Regret

Jisoo's POV

Our fieldtrip just ended like that. We went back as a couple, almost everyone knew that we were finally official and that gave shock to few of them, but many congratulated us.

I felt so blessed. I sat next to Taekwoon. It felt so awkward that we haven't said any word. 

"Uh.. Jisoo-ya"

"Uh.. Taekwoon-a" we spoke at the same time.

"You first Taekwoon-a, hehe" I let him to talk first.

"Do you want to listen together?" he offered a earphone piece to me. How sweet of him. I nodded. He put the earphone on my ear.

"What are going to say just now?" 

"Mm.. I just want to ask if you had a good sleep last night.." 

"Do you think I had a good sleep?" said him as he patted my head.

"Um-yes?" unsurely.

"Of course no, I kept thinking about you." hearing that made me blushed.

When I got home, I jumped to my bed and could not hide the excitement. Pinching myself to make sure this is not a dream. Suddenly a there was a notification from Taekwoon. He asked me if I want go to a date tomorrow. Without thinking much, I replied yes. At that night, we called each other until we were both asleep.

I woke up really early and already prepared myself to go on a date. I wondered if he had woken up. He has not replied my messages. I should go to his house. As I walked near his house, I saw a woman standing in front of the door. She looked hesitate wether ring the bell or not. I approached her and offer her help.

"What can I help?" I saw a note on her hand, An address was written on it.

"Is this Jung Hwaryeol's house?" Never heard of this name before.

"Pardon me." I hand gestured that I wanted to see the address.

"The address is correct though." I wondered if Jung Hwaryeol is his dad.

A sound of door knob was heard. Taekwoon was happy to see me but his expression changed instantly as he saw the woman. Hatred.

"Is that you Woon-i" The woman said with tearful eyes. Her right hand reached out to touch his face, but He turned away. Her hand stopped. Taekwoon immediately pull my me to go inside his house and left the woman alone as he slammed the door. 

"Is that your mom? Why do you left her like that?" I knew that it was not my problem, but I could not ignore the fact that he behave like that.

"Not your business." He went straight to his room.

I felt disappointed of him, but I also understand him. I better meet his mother. Maybe meeting with his mom can relieve his pain. I went outside, but she had gone already. But she may not be far, I searched for her. I could see her walking with a heavy steps. 

"Eomonii" I shouted from afar, and approached her with heavy breath.

We sat in a cafe nearby. After ordered some drinks, she began to talk.

She lowered her head and cried. But she calmed her down.

"You know.. after I left him that day, I regret it so much until these days." She took a deep breath.

"I almost end myself, but seeing his picture, it gave me strength. It's not that I abandoned him, I have my own reason that made me has to leave him. And seeing his face again, I think it's enough for me. I will go back to America and live quietly." she continued.

"Um.. Do you know that Taekwoon is suffering a lot?" I could see her shocked expression.

"D-Did he?" A tear slowly coming down from her eyes.

"I don't know how often he is like that, but for once I witnessed him, he was in so much pain. I think it's better for you to clear the misunderstanding." I held her both hands. I could see her fear.

"It's okay, or you will regret it for the rest of your life." I really hoped they can be back together.
