Amelia POV
I sat up in bed, completely unable to sleep any longer. I had tossed and turned the whole night thank to the empty bed I was stuck in. I looked at my alarm clock on the bedside table, seeing it was only 5:30 in the morning. Shoot me in the face. I rolled my eyes and threw the covers off my body, climbing from the false warmth of my sheets. I tugged on a pair of grey shorts, slipping a bra under Colson's ripped up Misfits t-shirt, and pulling on a pair of socks. I grabbed my phone and iPod as I went downstairs, seeing my mother coming in from work.
"Oh, did I wake you Baby?" She cooed as she sat her bag down on the counter.
"No momma, I couldn't sleep." I mumbled as I reached in the fridge for a yogurt. "I'm going to go for a run, try to shut my brain off." I smiled at her as she cocked her head to the side. "I'm fine, just-" I paused and looked down at my socks.
"He didn't come in last night huh?" She asked softly as I fought back the tears at her words. I had no idea why I was so upset about it, but it really hurt me.
"He- uh- he said he'd be back in an hour, and I've been waiting all night." I blurted as I decided against the yogurt, placing it back where it goes and walking over to grab my shoes.
"Sweetie I'm sure he didn't mean to-" I cut her off by waving my hand.
"No Mom, you can't be sure. You don't know the wild shit like I do." I groaned as I pulled my shoes on, pulling my hair into a loose pony and hooking my iPod to my shorts and plugging my headphone in, shuffling my songs, hearing Blink begin to play. "I love you, sweet dreams. I'll be home soon." I walked up to her, kissing her cheek before clipping my phone onto my shorts and jogging out the door and down the street. I plugged my headphone in, turning the volume up, quickly finding my perfect speed as I let my mind stop running. I ran down my road, over to Sloan's road, down further, running for what felt like hours. Feeling This by Blink 182 came to an end, just as I heard a voice calling for me.
"Mil!" I turned around, stopping in my tracks as Colson ran up beside me, leaving the guys he had been speaking to down the road to run up to me.
"Wild Boy." I smiled as he wrapped his long arms around my waist pulling me against him. I couldn't help but notice he wouldn't look right at me. I quickly pulled back, grabbing each side of his face, hearing him wince in pain. "What the fuck did you do Baker?" I hissed as I lifted his head, showing me the black eye and busted lip and bloody nose.
"It's not what it looks like." He puts his hands up and moves us behind a tree where he grabs me hands and looks me up and down, now taking in my sweaty state as well as my lack of breath. "Since when do you run?" I shook my head at him as I cleared my throat.
"Since I couldn't sleep, I went for a jog to clear my head. Why the fuck are you bloody?" I sneered as he tightened his grip on my hands.
"Princess, I promise you, I was on my way to you." I kept my hard stare, needing a lot more than that to not kick his ass and do more damage. "I was over at Dub's and I saw it was already two so I ditched and was on my way when-" He looked behind us, making me fully believe his story. I leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his bloody cheek.
"I believe you Wild Boy." I whispered softly as he smiled. "Come home with me to clean your bloody ass up?" He smirked at me as he kissed my cheek this time. "Mhm, because of that I might just make you breakfast too." I joked as he let go of me, I tried to walk back to the sidewalk, when I bumped into a large hard body, sending me to the grass. I quickly looked up, seeing Jackson standing over me.
"Oh, Amelia." He smirked at me as Colson quickly bent down and lifted me to my feet. Once I was up, I noticed the bruises and cuts on Jackson's face.
"You've got to be kidding me." I groaned as I walked towards Jackson, getting on my tippy toes, grabbing his chin.
"Woah personal space?" He questioned as I turned his head to each side examining his face. I rolled my eyes as I dropped back on my flat feet and grabbed his hands, seeing the blood and bruises. I dropped his hands and took a couple steps back.
"Baker. Get over here." I growled as I stared up at Jackson.
"Amelia-" Jackson started to talk, but I lifted my hand in the air, cutting him off.
"Who started this fight." I growled as I looked between the two boys, both towering over me, staring directly at each other. "You have two seconds to answer before I beat the shit out of both of y'all." I glared as Jackson spoke up.
"He came to my side, I didn-"
"Bullshit Mil I was coming to see you-" Jackson huffed causing me to glare harder at him as I looked back to Colson, who was very obviously telling me the truth.
"So he jumped you?" I questioned as I turned to Jackson.
"Wow, gotta have your girlfriend clean up your messes Wild Boy?"
Nope, that's enough. I stood on my toes as I smacked Jackson as hard as I could, sending him back a few steps. He straightened up, looking down at me, trying to scare me with his hard look, but failed miserably.
"One, I'm not his girlfriend." I sneered at him, walking back to Colson, who held a smile on his face. "And second," I paused as I grabbed Colson's hand. "I was raised to take care of those you hold close to your heart, so watch your damn mouth." I glared at him. "If you lay one more hand on him Jackson you will regret it." I promised as I led Colson away from the pissing contest with Jackson.
"Kells isn't good for anyone Amelia, stop lying to yourself!" Jackson
shouted as I stopped dead in my tracks. Before I could speak, Colson interrupted.
"That's not for you, or anyone besides her to fucking decide J, stop crying because you wish she was moaning your name out rather than mine." I held back my giggle, as Colson grabbed my hand again and pulled me hard against him, crushing our lips together. He moved down my neck giving me the perfect opportunity.
"Oh Colson, baby yes." I moaned out as I looked directly at Jackson, who looked like he was going to explode. Colson pulled back with a smile as he led me back to my house. "Ya know that stunt doesn't change that I'm mad at you too." I looked up at Colson as we walked along, he looked down, kicking rocks as he nodded.
"Mil, I wouldn't have fought him, but he brought you into it and-" He stopped himself as he gripped my hand tightly. "I had to stand up for the Princess." He smirked over at me, making me blush and roll my eyes.
"I really hate your ass sometimes." I shook my head as he pulled my hand, making me bump into him lightly.
"I know, I try very hard." He quipped back as we walked along.
Most of the walk was quiet, just spent enjoying the moment with each other. Until he broke the silence.
"You know I know that you work at Big's right?" I cringed as he spoke, making me shake my head.
"I was hoping you had no idea." I whispered softly as Colson squeezed my hand gently.
"I don't think any less of you for working to provide for you and your mother Amelia." I smiled softly as he continued. "I do wish my Princess didn't work at a strip club, but we don't always get what we want, ya know?" I giggled softly as I nodded.
"I don't dance though, I just serve Wild Boy, in my skimpy uniform." I winked at him as he rolled his eyes, chuckling softly. "How'd you know anyways?" I questioned. I'd seen many of the friends Colson had at the club, but they had no idea who I was, so they couldn't have told him.
"I went to bigs one night, to talk to James." James was my bodyguard, I didn't think he knew that. "Also Jackson told me. When he and some buddies jumped me." I rolled my eyes as Lost Without You began to play in the earphone I still had in my ear.
"Oh! Wild Boy!" I handed him the earbud and he quickly placed it in his ear, his smile widening when he realized what song it was. We walked back to my house, our fingers laced with the others, humming softly to the song the describes exactly how I felt about this crazy Wild Boy, and how I hoped he thought about me.
