Pic if Damian Travic

It was two in the morning when I woke up to arguing and what sounded like fighting. The pack hasn't been in good shape since our best tracker Chase left. The pack found it hard to keep the stray mutts in check. It seemed like every month a new mutt came to challenge for Alpha. Luckily Jeremy always won.

Being a werewolf isn't easy when you have this huge secret you always have to keep. Im the son of my Father Jeremy Travic, who is also the Alpha of my pack. It can get annoying too when you want to spend time with your father but he is busy all the time...

I got up and got dressed. I put on a black pair of distressed jeans, with a grey t-shirt and a brown leather jacket. I quickly slipped on a pair of tennis shoes and ran downstairs to watch my dad kick ass.

As I got downstairs I heard the fighting grow louder. It must have been outside, usually the fights were done inside. It was strange but nonetheless I went outside and seen Jeremy with a man pinned to the ground, screaming. I wasn't the one that enjoyed fighting, but watching this fight sent a shock of excitement in me. I don't know why, something about that man set me off. Jeremy then threw the man acrossed the yard into a tree slamming his back into it. The man fell to the ground caughing up blood. That's when I could get a clear view of him. His eyes were red with rage, with blood dripping from his mouth. That's when I knew what he was. What it was...

"You and your family wont be in power for long, Mr. Travic!"

Then the man bared his teeth to reveal two fangs and ran straight at Jeremy. A shock of fear ran threw my body. I never seen a vampire before. I only heard terrible things about them. The man slammed into jeremy what seemed too quick for me to see him even leave the tree. Jeremy fell back hard into the ground, I heard a whine come from jeremy before the man started punching him repeatedly. Thats when my instincts kicked in, something snapped.

"Enough, get off of him!"

The man looked up at me, smiling with his fangs in perfect view. He stood up slowly and then sprinted at me. He was only ten feet infront of me when they were fighting. It didnt even take a second before he was in my face.

"What are you gonna do about it, fucking dog!"

I was so petrified I couldnt move or make a sound. Thats when I noticed that the rest of the pack wasnt even outside. How was I dumb to not even notice that!? This wasnt a challenge this was a rogue vampire!

Before he could do anything he was yanked back to the ground. Jeremy had transformed, standing his ground between me and the vampire. I quickly sat down, dizzy from the confrontation. Thats when jeremy charge at the vampire. The man tried to strike at Jeremy but jeremy was very fast and had a powerful bite. Maybe that was because he was alpha, they are natually supposed to be the strongest in the pack anyway. After dodging the strike jeremy went behind him quickly jumping, biting the back of his head. A quick scream cried out before only the growl from jeremy was all I could hear. As the body fell to the ground jeremy walked over to me with a look of concern in his eyes. As a werewolf we could tell how each other were feeling by looking into our eyes.

"Im fine, I was just a little scared."

Jeremy closed his eyes and nodded his head, then walked off to clean the wounds.

"Im sorry, Im a coward." I said softly

Jeremy looked at me and then ran off into the woods. I walked back into the house and Annabella was standing there waiting. She looked mad with her arms crossed. She was like the older sister I never had, even though she wasnt blood related to me. She always wore her hair short. Im pretty sure if she didnt wear makeup you might mistake her for a guy. She was a tomboy, but still was into whatever girls were into.

"Why was there another damn vampire out there!"

"Dont look at me, I dont know."

She sighed and gave me a hug. It shocked me because we have only ever hugged once and I was eight years old at the time. I hugged her back and heard her crying. I never seen her cry before. She always acted strong and kept to herself.

"I want everything to go back to how it was! I hate all the fighting!"

She was really crying now, I never knew how she felt about all of this. It was weird but i still felt bad for her.

After ten more minutes she pulled away from me enough to see my face. "Thank you" she said sofly. She was still very upset. But atleast I could somewhat help, even though I didnt do anything.

"I need you two to to go into town."

I looked acrossed the room and jeremy was there with some bandages on his arm and a bandaid on his nose. It was a good thing we healed quickly for minor wounds. If he had been stabbed or shot badly it would be a different story. Annabella turned around to listen to what Jeremt had to say.

He wanted us to go into town to see if there was anything different. If there is a new family that moved in. Clearly he new something after the fight with that vampire. Instead of questioning him we both agreed and went to walk out the door.

"Not you Damian, we need to talk first, Annabella can go ahead."

I agreed and Annabella left without me. He gestured for me to sit down in the living room. So we both went into the living room and sat acrossed from each other.

"I hope you understand that you cant be afraid of vampires."

"I know"

He looked at me with disappointment and concern.

"Your my son, your strong and one day i will look to you to take my place when my time is up."

I hated thinking that, but it was true. We werent immortal like vampires. Sure we live longer than humans, but we all died sooner or later. "Im not strong enough, im a coward!" I said looking at the ground. Something about vampires made me weak. I guess it was from the stories or maybe it was what the man said that put me on edge.

"I know you are strong, it takes time Damian. I would never ask for anything less of you. Your a caring wolf. Which would make you an even better leader."

My eyes widened after i heard him say that. He doesnt open up much no one does, this whole rebellion from the mutts and vampires must be messing with everyone. Nonetheless I didnt mind hearing it from him.

"Thanks dad, I, I think i should start heading out, and catch up with Annabella."

"Yes, you should. Off you go!"

I got up telling my dad goodbye and walked out the door. As I ran into the woods I called Annabella to check up on her. She picked up saying that she has found nothing yet. Then I made the suggestion that we should transform to cover more ground, but to stay out of sight.

"Are you sure, i thought you hate transforming?"

She was right, I hated transforming. Ever since my first time I never wanted to do it, but we needed to try and solve this. I wanted Annabella to be happy, I wanted my family back together just as much as she did. I have to put my personal feelings aside and protect my family.
