Chapter 12

It's finally December and its been starting to snow here. I loved the snow.

*Flashback*

"Autumn honey, wake up it's snowing!" My mom said

A smile had formed onto my face as I woke up and hurried to into the living room to look out the window.

"Yay! It's snowing! It's snowing!" I exclaim

"Come on girls let's go outside" My dad walked into the living room with Audrey and I's jackets and boots

We were soon dressed, so we ran out to the backyard, there had already been so many feet sheets of snow on the ground so Audrey and I made snow angels and also had snowball fights.

My mom was taking pictures of us while dad was inside making hot chocolate 

*End Of Flashback*

They had set back school a little longer since no one would be able to drive in this weather, so that meant mom would be home too.

Olivia and I were so excited, we put our big coats on and what not

"I wanna make a snow angel!" She giggles

"Put your beanie on Olivia!" Mom said

I opened the back door and stepped out onto the sparkly snow, the cold air hit my face and I felt my cheeks start to try to heat up.

Olivia skipped out "Ahh! Yay!" She smiles and lays onto the ground 

"Make a snow angel with me Autumn!"

I smile and laid beside her, we were both now laughing and making snow angels. We later broke out into a snowball fight.

"Ahh! Autumn!" Livy ran

After spending sometime outside we went inside to warm up

We started up the fire and put on some movies, Liv wanted to have a "cozy day" as she says. So cozy days involve tons of snuggles, blankets, movies, hot chocolate, and moms chicken soup.

We'd always help her with cooking but Livy decided to sit this one out since she was watching Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

"Did Alex make it home okay?" My mom asked as she washed the vegetables

"Yeah, he got in before the weather got nasty"

"Good, it would have been hell trying to get back home in this snow"

"I know, I was getting worried but thankfully he's okay" I said

"You guys are too cute. I can tell you guys just... click. It's nice" She smiles

"Yeah, you like this one huh? You never had anything nice to say about the others" I laugh a bit

"Well cause they were assholes, you didn't see it but I did. It's mothers instinct in a way" She said

"They were, gos why did I do that to myself? I look back and can't believe I dated them. I was so stupid."

"You weren't stupid. Love is just blind, honey."

"Not even "love" I think about it cause i'd tell them I loved them but it was only because I felt obligated to. But, I never felt it. I thought I did, although I guess if you love them you're not supposed to be thinking about that, and second guessing yourself. I feel like you just know when you love someone." I said

"Of course, but never feel obligated to do or say anything, especially when you don't feel it. Love is crazy. You do crazy things but yes, you just know. Even though love can be a bitch, it's amazing."

My mom and I continued to make the soup and chat about things.

There had been a knock at the door which had us confused, so my mom went and opened it

"Hi honey! Come in, it's cold out" I hear my mom "It's Grace!" She said

They walk into the kitchen and I give her a big hug

"What are you doing walking out in the cold?" I asked

"I was bored and wanted to hang out with my other family" Grace said

 "Aww, well we're about to eat, want some chicken soup?"

We all ate dinner together and played some more in the snow.

Grace and I were watching a movie, when I had gotten a call from Alex

"Oooo! Answer it!" She smiled

I chuckled and answered it, both Grace and I's heads were in the frame

"Hey love, oh hi Grace!" Alex chuckles

"Hey!" We say in unison 

"What are you guys up to?" Alex asked

"Well we were watching a movie" Grace said

"Oh, my bad i'll call later if you want"

"Haha no it's okay, I was just messing with you" Grace and I laugh

Alex, Grace, and I were just talking about how Colorado is far different than Texas and other random things.

Alex and I eventually hung up, "You literally light up when you're around him. Like, it's crazy the effect you guys have on each other." Grace said

"Oh my god, first my mom now you, she literally said almost the exact same thing" I chuckled

"Well yeah, it's true. It's weird but I can just see it and see how you are with him. It's different. A good different." She said

"I guess so. I'm happy when i'm with him. I feel safe with him. I just don't want to screw it up." I said

"You won't, you guys started opening up to each other so it's a start. You don't have to tell him anything if you don't want to but, if it's gonna last, he's gonna end up finding out one way or another." Grace said

"Yeah, I know" I sigh "But maybe not, you never know"

"Have you been okay?" She asks

"Yes, I do feel a little down but nothing severe" I said quietly

"That's great A," She hugs me

After a little while Grace had gone home, leaving me, Livy, and my mom. As usual.

My mom and I were talking about what we were doing for Christmas, what we were getting Olivia, debating if we should even get Audrey anything, and what I wanted.

I  loved Christmas, but for some reason i'm either really good or really bad with my moods in the winter.

I then realized I have to buy Alex a gift as well. This is going to be fun.
