As for Alice, she had French. Now when it comes to Alice and french, she doesn't try much at all. But the annoying part is she's doing higher level while Kurtis is stuck in foundation. Like I'll probably repeat throughout this story. Life hates Kurtis so Kurtis hates life.
Alice spent the first few minutes attempting the starter and flopping horribly, the next 5 minutes dozing off, the next 2 minutes actually asleep followed by the rest of the lesson whispering to her friend Claudia.
Claudia "cloud" adjoa boafo. She's one of the friends out of their whole group that isn't actually very awkward at all. In fact, she's pretty perfect according to Alice and her other friends. Good grades, good attitude and moderate-good looks. She's also pretty much a dictator at times. She sometimes has the same energy as those memes of anime girls dressed up in soldier uniforms. She's also Alice's closest friend along with Kurtis. They knew each other at around the same time and have both been to her house. A funny rumour about Claudia when she came to this school was that she was related to Kurtis. Let's just tell ourselves it's definitely not because she's black.
It's finally lunch. Kurtis and Jae managed to get along pretty well. They have the same energy. Lazy, spontaneous and sort of random. She's actually from America and doesn't know much about England so its Kurtis's chance to educate her.
"And then there's the- where are you going?"
"Uhhh library? You coming?"
"We gotta eat though."
"I don't really. You can eat if you want"
"Isn't it bad for you to skip lunch, Kurtis?"
"I'm not that thin, I'll survive"
"Sure. See ya"
Jae walked into the canteen, leaving Kurtis to go to the library by himself. The group always hung out at the library at lunch. If they weren't there then they probably got kicked out and are at the bench. If they're all absent then Kurtis would go to play football.
In the library, Alice was talking to Martha. They both seemed excited and Kurtis was generally curious so he jumped into the conversation.
"OwO what's this?"
"Nothing just a- uhhh..."
Lenny face
"Uhhh Martha likes someone!"
"What?! Noooo"
Kurtis is both confused and intrigued. Alice happened to be a bad liar when it came to these things. But Kurtis kept it to himself for a while.
"Anywayyyy. The new album is coming in a week and I'm honestly going to die"
There goes Martha's intense love for the 1975. It's understandable seeing as she's known them for years and is a celebrity gossip guru herself. Give her any image of Matty Healy and she can identify when and where it was taken. It's an amazing ability that even Kurtis wishes he had. Speaking of Kurtis...
"Oh yeah it is next week. The song he released a few days back is gonna be on it"
Yeah he loves 1975 too. No Kurtis is not gay, he just likes indie music. Is it bad for a 14 year old guy to like an indie rock band and know half as much as the worlds most knowledgable fangirl? Talk about toxic masculinity.
Claudia enters the room and sits down.
"What are you talking about now?"
"Oh my fangirl friend and my campy friend are obsessing over a new album"
"Excuse me, 'campy'?"
"I mean... kinda"
A little more about Kurtis. He's not like most guys you'll meet in England. He doesn't speak much slang if any at all, he doesn't keep up with sports, he'd prefer wine to beer, he's never had a girlfriend and has never had a crush. Apparently, according to some guys, that's a recipe for homosexuality. The fact that he draws on his hands doesn't help much either.
"I'm not camp! Martha am I camp?"
"Umm I don't think so but when I imagine camp I imagine that guy from the movie 'Dumplin'"
"Oh yeah! I'm pretty sure he was actually gay though"
"Was he?"
"I don't remember much, I only saw it last month"
This went terribly off topic. That's how the conversations here go. Here, there, everywhere. Kinda confusing.
