Kurtis had a late night. Revision was a pain so he stayed up until 2am watching vsauce videos and learning how to understand different dimensions.
Martha has a good night, falling asleep to Ariana Grande while scrolling through Twitter.
Alice, or Erin now, had an early night for some reason, then woke up at 5 and couldn't sleep again. What a pain. Oh well.
Jae happened to have a bad night. She had a weird dream involving Kurtis and her American friends. It was mostly a druggy trance with nothing meaningful.
Kurtis fell asleep on the tram for much longer than expected. He woke up immediately after the doors opened at his stop and had to rush out. He spent the next 30 seconds trying to recover from the sudden daze. Then he realised he forgot the money to buy Alice's Fanta.———————————————————-

_________________________He got on the bus from the bus station and fell asleep again. He was then woken up by Jae, who got on the bus a stop after.
"Kurtis. Hey, wake up"
".....yooo. What- hi"
"You were out. What time did you sleep?"
"1:30? 2? That's as far as my memory goes- where are we?"
"Like ten stops away"
"Oh... right"
She sat next to him for the rest of the journey. They didn't really talk much but the acknowledgement of company is sometimes the best type of communication. Just to know someone is with you and enjoying the presence is good enough. It's why you sometimes have whole minutes on FaceTime without talking but still keep it on. In this case, however, Kurtis kept dozing off while scrolling through his feed. After about five minutes, Jae spoke up
"Do you have Netflix?"
"Yeah"
"What do you watch"
"...anything that interests me. Anime mostly"
"I haven't watched an anime in two years actually. I mean like fully watched one. I might start today actually. Do you have any recommendations?"
"If you're gonna start anime, start with the mainstream ones. Attack on Titan, a few dragonball movies, fullmetal alchemist and Tokyo ghoul. Then work your way down to the less complex ones like one punch man, saiki k, mob psycho 100 etc"
"Ok... I'll see if I can remember that"
"Cool"
After 5 minutes, they got off. It was a cold day and Jae had forgotten her thermals so she was shivering quite a lot. Kurtis, being a nice person with no real need for gloves, gave them to her. He had long thin fingers so they didn't really fit her hands that well but she appreciated the gesture nonetheless. This was the last he saw of those gloves for a long time now.
In tutor time, Kurtis was completely out of it. He didn't have enough energy to comprehend anything properly. Even the bell startled him. In maths, he dozed off twice in the course of the lesson, both times he jumped up when he woke up. In science, half his answers were mixed up and full of stupid mistakes. He was basically begging for the freedom of break.
Martha and Alice met in the cafeteria. Martha was halfway through explaining her favourite movie when a large rucksack landed next to her, followed by an exhausted Kurtis sit next to her and lay his head on the bag.
"...sup"
"You alright there?"
"Bloody exhausted. Hello, Erin"
Alice gave a small wave as her mouth was stuffed with a pastry of some sort.
"What have I missed?"
"I was telling Alice about- I mean Erin, sorry"
"It's fine"
A thing about Martha you should know about is that she apologises a lot. Like, way more than a stereotypical Canadian (she does have some Canadian blood). It comes from her being incredibly considerate and nice. It's one of those habits you wish you had but can't because you're too emotionally distorted. Basically, everyone wants to be as nice as Martha.
Back to what Martha was explaining.
"So I had this teacher in primary school and basically everyone loved him. He was everyone's favourite and he was genuinely a good teacher"
"This is gonna be wild"
"He got really close to the students and a few found his Facebook and they followed him"
"I'm pretty sure that's illegal"
"Some of the teachers found out and he got fired. But it's really sad because he's innocent and was a really really good teacher"
"Sad. Did he really do anything wrong?"
"No, that's the point!"
"So why did he get fired?"
"The teachers probably thought he was grooming them or something"
The discussion of the story went on for 5 minutes and was followed by a debate on the worst kids from their childhoods. Alice and Martha had PE next. Sports doesn't really mix well with them. But they have no choice but to do it. It's a pain because they never know what's going to happen. Well, let them just get over it then.
