Let's talk about Jae. She's had a relatively normal life. She's from Cincinnati, Ohio and has no full siblings but several half siblings, mostly from her fathers side. Normally, she's quiet and sort of awkward until she gets comfortable. Then she's the wildest friend in the group. She actually moved to England not too long ago. She really misses her friends. She sometimes ends up forcing herself not to cry over not being in their company. She's extremely lonely in England. What she needs is a good group of friends.
So this is where Kurtis comes in to play. He's in the perfect position.
Now back to the present. Kurtis isn't sure what to do. He's gone into his unreasonably awkward moments. He had no idea why, they hit it off really well.
So who's going to say hi first?
...
...
...
"Oh hi! Didn't see you there". Jae stepped up to the game.
"Oh hi. Uhhh do you have the bus times?"
"Bus times???"
"Yeah"
"???????"
"...oh right! Sorry. It's an app we use to check when buses arrive."
"You guys have that here?"
"Yup. My phone's on 3% though so I don't really wanna check"
"iPhone or Android"
"iPhone?"
"It'll survive"
"Yeah but then I'll be down to 2% and that's bad. I need it for like 2 more songs"
"Hmmm- oh it's here!" She said as a red double decker bus drove from a distance up to the tiny bus stop. Kurtis got his Oyster card out and touched it (if you Americans are confused then speak to your local English friend online or at the nearest tube station). Jae surprisingly had one too. They both decided to head upstairs.
Now Kurtis isn't a pervert so being forced to go upstairs behind Jae is the most uncomfortable thing ever, especially as she had a well curved figure. Understandably, though, girls are always conscious of this, which is why they go UP stairs so quickly compared to when they go down stairs.
Kurtis wanted to sit at the front but Jae started heading to the back, meaning Kurtis had to give up his treasured front seat to the old Indian couple behind him.
Jae took the window seat as everyone loves the window seat. Kurtis sat next to her with his bag on his lap, resting his chin on the top of his bag. It's the position he normally assumed when on any type of public transport, in case he felt a need to sleep.
"So how's it like in America?"
"It's... different there. Here, everyone is sort of more... mixed in and everywhere, like a haribos packet. In America it's all grouped up. Big guys with big guys, thots with thots, nerds with nerds. I kinda like here better"
"That's good. Do you plan on going back?"
"I mean... for the holidays definitely but I'm gonna have to live here from now on. Or until university"
"I see. If I could ask... why did you move here"
"That umm... I'd prefer not to talk about it"
"Oh. Sorry"
"No no, it's okay. It's just long to talk about"
"Oh I see."
"..."
"..."
"Do you have any social media?"
"Umm I've got instagram and Snapchat"
They both exchanged social medias. Kurtis has three Instagram accounts: a meme page which he barely uses, a more personal spam page and an aesthetics account he uses for photography and short films.
"You make short films? That's awesome!"
"Yeah, I don't use a camera though. I wish I did but I'm poor"
"It's still really good. Can I see one?"
"Sure" one minute later "that's pretty awesome"
"Yeah it's cool I guess. So uhh... what do you do?"
"I'm into theatre and acting"
"That's perfect! Martha and I wanna work on a full length short film in the summer and I needed an actress"
"Wait you want me in-"
"Yes. I mean, if you want obviously"
"Of course, thanks!"
Yeah, at some point Kurtis and Martha discussed a short film based on their favourite album. Nothing much.
"I kinda hope to go to the Cannes film festival one day"
"With your films, you'd be featured there"
While they were talking, Kurtis had failed to realise his friend from a lower year had come onto the bus and made it upstairs. This is where we meet Dante "Dente" Brown.
He's all kinds of bad. Perverse, stubborn and explicit with a strong love for drill, he was essentially a basic popular kid in his year. It's quite a wonder how he became acquainted with someone such as Kurtis.
"Aye. Wasteman"
"Wha- oh god why? Jae this is Dente"
"How many times Bruv it's Dante"
"Yeah it's Dente"
Jae couldn't help but giggle at them despite feeling somewhat awkward. She gave a light wave and a small smile.
"Hi."
Dente sat next to Kurtis and began nudging him, repeatedly attempting to direct his gaze to Jae.
Nudge... stare... nudge stare nudge... nudge stare... nudge "aye bruv..."
"....you bloody p e r v ! ! !" Slap to the back of the head
