Downfall

I woke up feeling refreshed. Relief washes over me. It's a beautiful day. No nightmares, nor bad dreams. Just a normal but mirthful day. The sun was brilliant and it definitely intersected with my mood. As I recalled the events last night, my lips quirked up into smile. Today is Saturday and I got no plans in mind. I grabbed my phone on the table at the side of my bed.

50 messages.

How odd. I sighed and lay down on my bed, reading the texts one by one. Mostly, they were advance birthday greetings and wishes from my classmates and schoolmates. I don't even know half of them. I scrolled down and searched for familiar names.

From: Sky

Good morning beautiful :)

I smiled as I read the message. Just a simple text makes my heart skip a beat. I rolled on my bed and jumped, dancing in joy. I really need to calm down. I typed down my reply and chuckled.

To: Sky

Good morning love :)

CANCEL. I was about to send it but before I could, I noticed what I just wrote. Did I just type 'love'? That's the most embarrassing thing I've ever typed, why the heck did I even write that? Well, it is quite normal since we are together but it is still weird, we didn't even designate any endearment.

To: Sky

Good morning <3

SENT. That's better. It took 45 seconds for him to reply.

From: Sky

Got any plans today?

I waited for a minute before I can type my reply, I didn't wanna look desperate. After the interval that I've set passed, I sent another text.

To: Sky

Nope. What about you?

As I pressed send. I went back to lie down on bed, fifteen seconds and then I heard my phone ring. I slide my screen to answer the call.

"Hey." Sky. I blushed as I heard his voice on the other line.

"Hey."

"Am I disturbing you?"

"Of course not. By the way, why did you call?" It's not that I didn't like it when he calls me, it's just that, I wanted to know the reason. Why am I getting all excited over these trivial things? This is so unlike me.

"Texting wasn't enough. I wanted to hear your voice."

Butterflies. Creatures. They were all swirling inside my stomach. My face was beet red "I-I see." was the only phrase I can reply. I wanted to tell him that I want to hear him too, but stupid tongue of mine couldn't form a decent word.

"Uhm so, I-I wanted to ask you out." he was stammering. Something changed within his voice, it became more deep and manly.

"S-sure."

"I'll pick you up at two."

"Hmmm. Alright." I replied calmly.

Sky took me on an arcade. The usual one where we play games. Since it's the weekend, there are a lot of people today. We bought our gaming card and roamed to search for a game that'll suit our taste. There area was humongous. I spotted a cute Domo stuffed toy and I pointed toward the direction of the machine.
