Nostalgia

JEREMY

The events that transpired recently somehow took me aback. I was surprised how my friendship with Faith is blooming. She's really nice. I'm starting to get to know her more; she loves pasta and cheesy foods, she's silly and weird in a way that she won't embarrass herself. She's pretty (well, everyone knows that) and she has an amazing lashes, her eyes are green and she's hot despite her eccentricity. Everyone likes her and she's sociable, albeit she kept distance towards the people around her and she always put this wall around her. I'm glad I was able to find out trivial things about her, despite it being minuscule in amount. She changed throughout the years, different from who she was before.

When I first saw her, I immediately developed an attraction and she became my crush in an instant. Faith and I met three years ago, although she probably doesn't remember but all the good time we had together marked my mind, they're the most cherished memories I've ever had.

****

Three years ago, Summer of 2011.

I was fourteen years old at that time. Due to my ill grandpa, dad had to pay him a one-month visit. My hometown was Canada, somewhere in Vancouver. I wasn't used to this new place and I felt homesick, I had no friends and I couldn't adjust well in the environment. I didn't like living in this huge city at all.

I was playing with my kite, when suddenly it got stuck on the tree. It was the only object that prevent me from being lonely. The tree was just tall and I was only 5'7. Then this blonde pretty girl suddenly appeared out of the blue, watching me sob silently. I noticed her scrutinizing me. She was bemused at first then she laughed boisterously.

"Pussy!" she guffawed, pointing out at me. Although she was pretty, I still found myself scowling at her cause I felt offended.

"Who the hell are you?! Why are you laughing?!" I yelled. Her laughter ceased and she looks at me again, I reciprocated her gaze and the two of us stared at each other. It was a staring contest, I managed to look deeply into her eyes, it was clearly emerald green and she looked so stunning. My face flushed scarlet as I find myself drawn to her; just like a normal teenage boy would feel, I was attracted and the hormones are doing its' function; making me all giddy internally.

After moments, she broke the silence and spoke "I'm sorry, it's just that, it's seldom for me to find a 14-year-old big boy crying over his kite and to top it off, he plays like a kid." she commented, I could tell that she was doing her best to suppress her laughter. I had no friends so I had to play by myself, she was right, I'm childish and I won't deny that fact. I still play, I'm not like those typical fourteen year old boys who's sociable and friendly.

"So what? It's not like it matters to you!" I retorted. I was annoyed but at the same time, charmed by her beauty.

"You're weird." she glanced at me meaningfully, then added "But I like you." I rarely get flustered but I swear, I can feel myself blush by her remark. I feel so gay at the moment, dudes don't blush casually, that's what my dad told me.

"W-whatever!"

"So, your kite got stuck?" she inquired for confirmation.

"Yeah." I nodded.

She looked at the tree, as if she was estimating its' size with her mere eyes. And suddenly, without warning, she began to clung on the tree. "H-h-hey!!! What are you doing?!" I was stupefied by her bold attempt of getting it for me. She was successful on climbing the tree, she tossed grabbed the kite then tossed at me and I immediately accept it.
