I bite my lip as I watch Logan carry the ball along the wing, running by the other midfielder and closing in on the opposing defender. I'm extremely nervous for my sister, knowing that she hasn't been getting a decent run in the team, this is actually her first start since signing up with Reign and I know my sister well enough to know that it'll be frustrating her, which won't help her attitude.
She sprints by the defender and crosses the ball into the box, only for the 'keeper to catch it and send it up to a Sky Blue forward.
It's cat and mouse for a while, nobody really threatening to score yet. It's at the 25th minute when Logan chests down a pass from Hope and tries to hold the play up long enough for reinforcements, but the defender has other plans and tackles my sister, taking her legs away and getting nowhere near the ball. My breath catches as my sister clutches her ankle.
"LOGAN!"

"What the fuck was that?!" Emily screams at the culprit who left our rookie on the deck, Keelin having to hold the Aussie back before the referee starts to dish out yellow cards.
"I barely touched her." The defender smirks, holding her arms in the air and shrugging, which only pisses my team off even more.
I remove myself from the crowd and kneel beside Logan, who Kelley is also concerned about.
"Are you okay?" I hear Kelley ask the question I'm wanting an answer to.
"No!" Logan yells, in pain not anger, as the trainers finally make their way to the rookie. "Fucking bitch!" Kelley and I are simply left to watch the kid punch the ground in anger, letting us know that her game is finished before the trainers even examine her.
"Number 14, Sky Blue." The ref yells, not knowing the girl's name, before the player looks at the ref, who hoists a yellow card in the air.
"What the fuck! That's a red!" Emily continues to yell, clearly as unhappy with the referee's decision as the rest of our team. "Do you fucking job." The Aussie yells as I see Hope help Keelin in pulling her away, but it's too late. The ref also hands her a yellow, clearly fed up with her back talk.
I held out hope for Logan as long as I could, until the trainer signals to the coach that she needs to make a change, that Logan is done. I help our trainers and get the rookie off the field and sit her on the sidelines.
"That's fucking bullshit!"
"I know, Logan. I know." I can't console my teammate, the referee already telling me to get back on the field and resume play.

"That's..." I cut myself off from cussing the house down, my 'new mother' still sitting next to me. I glance at her, she looks like she could be sick and I get to the realization that I must look about the same.
I knew as soon as Logan punched the ground that she wouldn't be getting back up.
"Can I call her later?"
"Kevin, we bought you the phone, it's yours. You can call her whenever you like. How about we go see her when she gets back? I'd like to meet the young woman that took care of you."
"Thanks." I didn't even attempt to kill the face eating grin on my face. She knows how much Logan means to me and that she would be willing to meet her so soon, means the world to me. I just hope Logan would be willing to meet my new family, too.

It's been a few hours since the game ended, we lost 2-0. Both goals coming after I was taken off the field. Can't lie, I'm still so fucking pissed off that I got injured, but it helps knowing that it's not my fault, Im not the one that did anything wrong.
"So what's the verdict?" I ask the doctor at the local hospital I was brought to here in New Jersey.
"Well, you're lucky. It's not broken, it's just badly sprained. You should stay off it for a few weeks, but you'll be back playing before you know it."
I withhold all my sarcastic comments, knowing they won't help, and wait until the professionals leave.
"Back before I know? Yeah right. I'm already missing it."
"That tends to happen." I hear a voice from the door and look up to see Kelley leaning on the frame. "Is a Sky Blue player allowed in, or are you still mad?"
"Nah." I chuckle, still not breaking eye contact with the Pro. "You're allowed, I'm not mad at you."
"That's good to know. How's the ankle?"
"Sprained."
"That's good. At least it's not anything more serious."
"God, you sound just like my doctors." I laugh, knowing it's true but I'm tired of looking on the brightside.
"Kevin's worried about you." She changes the subject. She simply smirks at me when I narrow my eyes at her.
"Why are you two still texting?" I groan, seriously not trusting my brother and his loud mouth.
"Aww. Are you jealous?" Kelley sits on my bed, tilting her head as she mocks me. "Scared that little cutie will steal me?"
"I wasn't, until you said that." I look at her like she's crazy for bringing it up, but she only laughs at me before she leans forward, my mind going blank from whatever we were just talking about. My entire focus on her as she connect her lips to mine, sending shockwaves through my system, butterflies in my stomach.
"That's so gross." I hear from the doorway, reluctantly pulling away from Kelley to look around her. Pinoe and Hope standing by the door.
"It really is. Get off our rookie, O'Hara."
Kelley laughs at Hope, but still stands from my bed to sit on the seat next to it as Hope and Megan claim the other side. I catch my teammates up on my diagnosis, and they say the same as Kelley, and the doctors - that at least I won't be out long.
"I swear, I'm gonna slap the next person that says that."
"Hey!" Emily and Keelin walk through the door. "Hear you only sprained your ankle. That's better than breaking it, you won't be out for very long." The Aussie beams as Pinoe, Solo and O'Hara laugh from beside me. "What?"
"That's is. I'm gonna slap you." I try and get out of the bed, fully intent on assault but Kelley gently pushes me back in.
"Simmer down, kid. I'm glad you're okay."
"I'm not a kid, but thanks."
