During my rare week off, I decided to fly to Seattle and visit Logan. It was a decision made in a matter of seconds, my mind not processing that I should ask my girlfriend if she's free before purchasing my ticket for the next morning. After buying the ticket, I called Hope and sure enough, they have the next two days off, so I packed my bag.
I eventually made it to the hotel not far from my girlfriend's apartment that Hope was nice enough to give me the address to. Logan knows I'll be in Seattle 'soon', but not this soon, so hopefully it's a nice surprise.
Being too excited to see my newly-announced-Canadian girlfriend, I shower and change from the clothes I wore on the flight here, and head through the streets of Seattle toward Logan's place. I don't walk too fast, taking in the sights that Logan calls home, and smile with content when I can clearly see that it's a far nicer neighborhood than the one she was in before.
I make it to the respectable building that houses my girlfriend, and make my way upstairs to her door, suddenly hoping that she's not busy. I find her apartment, 4B, and knock on the door.
"Just a second!" I hear Logan yell from somewhere inside and a minute later the door opens. "Kelley?"
I don't get the chance to greet her properly before she throws herself in my arms, burying her head in the crook of my neck. I wrap my arms around her waist and gently squeeze her.
"Hi, baby."
"Who is it?!" I hear from inside, and Logan pulls away.
"Oh. I didn't mean to interrupt-"
"KELLEY!" Kevin shows up in the doorway, and reacts much like Logan did minutes before, and jumps into my arms. Truth be told, I miss the smaller Scott.
"Hey Kev."
"We're just having dinner, why don't you join us?" Logan asks, intertwining our fingers as she takes my hand and leads me inside her apartment, where I'm met with an older couple that I've never met before.
"Mom, dad." Kevin starts, taking me by surprise and I glance at Logan to see she tenses slightly, although her brother doesn't notice. "This is Kelley, Logan's girlfriend!"
"It should be my job to introduce her." Logan whines, receiving chuckles from the man and woman who are only now standing from their seats at the dining table.
"Go ahead then."
"There's no point now, is there?!" She playful glares at Kevin while the couple watch on, their eyes sparkling with happiness.
"It's nice to meet you..." I trail off, only now realizing that Kevin didn't tell me their names.
"This is Clarissa and Alan Griffin." Logan jumps at the chance to finish the introduction, earning a groan from Kevin while I shake hands with the married couple.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm a friend of anyone who looks after my favorite kid." I confess as I ruffle Kevin's hair.
Logan moves her place at the table to give me space, continually telling me to shut up when I apologize for intruding.
"It's the best kind of surprise I could have hoped for, so shut up."
"How long have you two been together?" Clarissa asks as she sips her glass of red wine. Logan remains quiet, leaving me to answer the woman who is staring at me.
"Five, almost six, months." I admit, grinning when Logan takes my hand and pecks my cheek before going back to her glass of water.
"But you don't live here? Is long distance difficult?" The female Griffin asks, and I feel Logan's grip on my hand increase slightly until I stroke the back of her hand with my thumb.
