I woke up that morning feeling like I was unstoppable. My stomach felt as if there were a million butterflies in it. I glanced over the alarm clock; 9:25.

"SHIT!" I screamed when I saw I only had about thirty minutes to get ready and get to work on time. It already took 20 minutes just to get there alone.

"Sara? Are you OK?" My grandmother hollered down the hallway.

"Yeah! I'm just running a little late!" I shouted back.

I grabbed a flannel shirt and a pair of shorts. I threw my hair up in a messy bun and put on my converse. I quickly went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and put on mascara.

"Love you Grandma!" I said opening up the front door.

"Aren't you gonna grab something to eat?"

"I'm running late, I'll grab something at the diner." I said leaving.

I rushed in the front doors right before it hit 10:01. I sighed in relief and walked over to the counter and grabbed my apron. Diane was giving me smirk, as she looked at me from the corner of her eye as she took an order.

I grabbed the coffee pot and got to work taking orders and filling cups. Same people as usual that show up every morning and afternoon. I just couldn't stop smiling of the thought of Dally in the back of my mind throughout the whole day.

"Hello Miss Smiley." Diane came over to the bar as I stood at the bar as things slowed down.

"Hello to you too." I looked at her with a laugh.

"So how'd your date with trouble go last night?" She asked with a grin.

"Eh it was okay I guess." I said with a smirk. I could feel my cheeks getting red and warm.

"I see..."She smirked

"NO! IT WASNT LIKE THAT!" I raised my voice in defence.

"So what really happened?"

"We kissed. Nothing more than kissing. It was barely a date. We just went to a bar, and his buddies were there. When I left he came after me, and we kissed."

"I see..." She laughed and grabbed her coffee pot as the door opened.

I went over to the coffee machine to refill the pot, when I heard a familiar voice.

"Hey baby." I heard a chuckle behind me. I jumped and turned around to see Dallas leaning against the counter.

"Jesus Dal!" I snapped at him, but he just laughed."What do you want?"

"Can't I come see my girl working?" I looked at me with a corner smile.

"I'm not your girl." I said with a sly look.

"Well I thought that's kinda how it was now after last night"

"Well, that's not how it works. You took me to a bar and we kissed. That doesn't make me your girl." I looked at him with a serious expression.

"Are we seriously doing this again?" He said irritated.

"Doing what?" I started to pick up dishes and clean up booths as he followed me.

"This! You being stubborn!"

"I'm sorry that your charms aren't working on me, and I'm not as attracted to you as you thought."

"Why?! What am I doing wrong Sara?" He budged in front of me with the most confused face.

"Dal, I need to work. I have thirty minutes left, and I plan on making them count." I pushed in front of him and walked over to the back of the bar.
