Super heroes do not exist,
But if they did,
I'd be your superman,
Swoop in to rescue whenever you are in need,
But you wouldn't be my Lois Laine,
You'd be my kryptonyte,
Because I'd be vulnerable around you,
And you'd make me weak in the knees whenever we'd be close enough to touch.
Super heroes do not exist,
But if they did,
I'd be your batman,
Your dark knight,
I'd stand beside you on your darkest days,
I'd defeat all the criminals that lerk in the cold dark alley ways of your sadness to retrieve your smile whenever you are feeling low,
I'd even be your joker if you ever find yourself in need of a good laugh,
So long as you'd be my Haley Queen,
And my heart the foundation upon which you build you kingdom.
Super heroes do not exist,
But if they did,
I'd be your flash,
I'd run to your side whenever you need me,
I'd bend the laws of space and time just so that every moment we spend with one another feels like and eternity,
I'd chase after you each time you run through my mind,
Even though I know I'm probably never going to catch you,
Kinda because I never tire of running after you,
But mostly because I can never bring myself to ever stop thinking about you.
Super heroes do not exist,
But if they did,
I'd be your aquaman,
I'd swim through oceans to get to you,
Drown you in compliments until your lungs are filled with my many manifestos,
I would wash away all the doubts you have about how I truly feel about you,
And yes maybe the old phrase is true,
That there are plenty of fish in the sea,
But all I am ever going to want is you.
Yes super heroes do not exist,
But I do,
I'm here,
A mortal man who bleeds and breaks like everyone else,
Who gets scared and afraid,
Who stumbles and messes up at times,
Who laughs and sometimes feels like crying,
But if super heroes did exist,
I can guarantee at least one thing for sure,
None of them would ever have the power to love you half as much as I do.
