To me you were more than just a pretty face and a pretty smile,
You were the perfect poem,
With roses and rhymes in your step and a chest full of punchlines,
To me you were the very definition of music,
With violins in your eyes that lifted the butterflies in my stomach and made them dance to the sweet melody that seemed to hijack your voice everytime you'd start to speak,
You were my favorite work of art,
Meticulously painted across the canvas of my mind each time you'd glance my way,
And I've spent sleepless nights trying to memorize every piece of your beautiful master piece,
You had galaxies on the sides of your cheeks,
And I'd feel star dust sprinkling down my fingertips each time I'd brash up against them,
You were the steady rhythm that my heart grew accustomed to,
So now every beat reminds me of you,
When my memories of you fly across my mind like lost astronauts each time I space out,
I'm reminded that we weren't so bad of a match,
Even though when we were lit we burnt out too quick,
And the flames still scar me deep,
I can still smell a hint of love in the fumes of the ashes we left behind,
You and I may not have been destined to last a life time,
But we sure did have fun along the way and I learnt a lot from us,
As such,
I will never regret you,
I will never forget you.
