-THIRTY-

"You guys," I told them as I pretended to be comfortable about this topic and even dared to smile. Nothing's wrong, Ami. "There's nothing to worry about. We were never an item," I added sweetly that after saying it, I want to slap my own face. It's too sweet that it sucks. My heart's on frantic mode again.

Tria let out a long sigh of relief.

There was a dead silence after I confessed. My palms were sweaty and my face was on fire. I looked at Tria. Alam kong may nagbago nung tiningnan niya ko. Confusion is still evident in her eyes. The dreadful silence was broken by Talia.

"Bottoms up, guys." As if we're robots, napainom kami agad. Bekah was gazing down at me with a mocking amusement written all over her face. I chose to ignore it.

I let myself be the ghost in this room. Tiningnan ko nalang sila. And occasionally, Jacky's or Tria's gaze would land on mine and they will look away quickly as if I'm a fire burning their eyes.

My phone vibrated. It was my savior at this moment. Automatically, without looking at the name, I answered it.

My heart suddenly thudded in my chest.

"H-hello?"

"Nandiyan ba si Sage?" Oh for Pete's sake! Para akong nanlumo nung marinig yung boses niya. It was urgent but I can feel the hesitation in his voice. What's so urgent these days?

"Downstairs, why?"

"Can I speak to him? Because he's not taking my darn calls," he uttered, sounding pissed and cold. I wonder if that's because he got no choice but to call me and hindi siya sangayon dun or maybe because Sage and him did really have a row or anything else.

"Hold on," I told him. I excused myself but after turning my back, I caught Bekah's smirk especially made for me.

Nasa hagdan palang ako nakasalubong ko na si Sage.

"Hey." I touched his arm.

"Where are you going? You seemed flushed. Why?" Bigla niyang hinawakan yung leeg ko. Umasog ako bigla.

"I'm not sick, okay?" He flashed me a cheeky grin that had my eyes rolled.

"What are you doing there? Is my girl drinking too much?" I bit the insides of my mouth. I felt a twinge in my heart. Muntik na kong sumagot when I realized the question wasn't addressed to me. It was for his girl. His girl.

"She's good. Drank one glass straight."

He nodded, seemed to be satisfied.

"What are you asking me about?" I avoided his eyes and looked somewhere. Then, oh God! I forgot all about Xenon!

"Oh fuck," I cursed then shoved the phone on his hands.

"Xenon wants to talk to you," I uttered fast, answering his bewildered face. "I'm sorry I forgot!" I added for Xenon.

I was about to move away from them when Sage touched and held my arm. I was about to question him when he put a finger on my lips that made me shut the hell up. Nakangiti siya ng nakakaloko sakin, I stared back confusedly. Hindi ako makatingin sa iba. I was imprisoned in his mischievous gaze.

"She left," Sage lied. I didn't leave! But I can't utter a word.

"Now, what do you want to talk about?" I'm getting curious and maybe I'm being a little nosy about their talk, so I silenced myself and managed to break Sage's stare.
