"Well, word got around that there was a demigod blessed by Gaea. That's means you're ultra powerful. But if someone manages to drink a drink of your blood or kill you with the Arrow of Eros, they'll get your powers." Volant told me, sitting me down on a nearby bench.
"What?! You've gotta protect me." I looked up at him, cursing myself for being in such a terrible position.
"I will. But Athena is on her way as her actual form. She's going to train you." He smiled kindly and it warmed my heart a little.
"Wait. So Rain was never real?"
"Athena is your best friend. Don't worry, the form is really similar. The only difference will be something small like her figure or her hair texture." He muttered. He reached a hand forward and tucked a curl behind my ear. I blushed a little.
"Okay. So, do I actually have powers?" I asked, looking in his eyes. I wasn't really paying attention, but looking in his eyes. They were really pretty, the color of the house, and had grey and green flecks in them. And he had freckles.
"Yeah. Probably having to do with plants and growth. And maybe a little sunlight manipulation." Volant was in an actual conversation with me. No smirking or anything. Only his adorable crooked smile.
"Wait, So...why is this so important?" I asked.
"Cuz if you're killed....part of Gaea and Demeter die too. And Gaea's already weak. And everyone knows if Gaea goes down, Olympus and the world will go down." He pulled away, looking at the setting sun.
"So I'm supposed to save the world?" I followed his gaze.
"Yeah. But don't worry. I believe in you."
~~~~~3 hours later, inside the house~~~~~
"Athena here will spar you. Don't worry. She'll go easy and you have armor. She'll try to tap into your powers." Volant stood by me as I sat in the cleared living room, furniture at the side. He was currently putting a golden leaf crown around my head. It was true; I did have armor. Armor that weighed me down. The chest plate and boots were loving gravity a whole lot currently.
"O-Okay." Rain smiled at my nervousness, her hair fuller and thicker and eyes more grey since she was Athena.
"You'll do fine." She then put on a serious face and struck. I hopped out the way, pulse racing. She struck again and I touched the sword, turning it into a scythe and stealing it. Adrenaline rushing, I pointed it at her.
"Rain, do you yield?" I asked her, point of the blade at her throat.
"Don't lower your defenses." She whispered, kicking me in the gut. I fell to the ground and she stood over me.
"Now you yield." Rain commanded. Panicking, I slammed my fist in the ground and vines wrapped around her tying her to the wall. Power surging, I slammed my scythe in the ground, causing the ground to open up underneath Rain.
"I yield! I yield." She lowered her head in defeat and I waved away the crack and the vines triumphantly.
"Wow." Volant looked stunned and I felt the same. I looked at my hands and little vine-shapes had wrapped around my fingers.
"You're more powerful than I imagined. And once we tap into that power...I don't think anything will stop you." Rain shot me a smile, still slightly recovering from a near death experience.
"Are you so sure?" The shadowy figure had come back.
