"Wake up, brahs!" Ross jerked us to a stop, forcing us both to wake up. I fell of the seat and onto the floor of the chariot. Rain giggled at me groggily and I smiled.
"We're here! Welcome to Greece!" The Greek God helped us out and I sat and looked at how beautiful it was. The grass was a beautiful green and the weather was kinda cool, but not cold.
"All we have to do is get to the Parthenon temple without any interruptions and we'll be fine." Rain squeezed my hand with hope and I held it.
"Sounds great. Ross, can you lead the way?" I asked politely as I could.
"Uh, sorry dudes, but let's just say some things happened at that temple and I am no longer able to go there. Just pick a rose and maybe my mom will help." His ears were red as he scratched his neck. I sighed then looked for a rose, picking a random one off the ground. A trail exploded in sparkles and perfume and left rose petals in its wake. I walked into it, then felt something change. I was wearing a white, sleeveless dress that was light and went a couple inches above my knees. My curly, chocolate hair was down and calm with a golden leaf crown decorating my head. Vines ran up and down my body so I was covered in them, but not completely.
"Nice." Athena's transformation was pretty much the same and we smiled at each other then followed the trail.
~~~~~Fifteen Minutes Later~~~~~
Before our eyes, a towering marble temple grinned at us.
"It's beautiful." I sighed contently, smiling.
"It's a mess. Dumb mortals." Rain shook her head but was still smiling. Suddenly, the sky grew dark and the world was silent. Before I could say anything, a huge gray cloud fell to the ground. It was Apate. I summoned my scythe and Athena, her sword.
"Greetings, my little puppet. How's it going?" Her green dress flew around her and her violet eyes sparkled with mischief.
"You have three seconds to leave." I threatened. She threw her head back and laughed.
"Oh, my. You forgot I have another Big Twelve pet." She hissed, snapping her two fingers together.
"Call me pet one more time and it'll be the end of ya." A guy with a New York accent said from behind Apate. I looked at him. He looked kinda like Athena, but older and with scars and blood-red eyes and tattoos.
"Ares. It's a pleasure to meet you." I said plainly, not showing fear or emotion. I think it worked.
"Hiya plant brat. So how's this gonna work? Me fight my own blood or you?"
"Technically, I'm your own blood, but I'm looking for a challenge." I gave him a smirk and he laughed.
"Too bad you're the one who would cause Olympus' downfall. I like ya." Ares smiled a little.
"Enough with the chitchat! Ares, attack!" Apate hissed. He shrugged and swung a sword at me. I dodged and stomped my foot on the ground. Vines with thorns wrapped around his ankle and I pulled it, making him fall. I swung my scythe at him and it cut his arm.
"Good technique." He muttered, trying to get up but I shoved my foot in his chest.
"Y'know Aphrodite is on my side, right? She's the reason I'm so pretty right now." I said, putting thick vines around him.
"Really? Aw, ya could've just said that in the first place. Man..." Ares trailed off, looking behind me. I tied him to a pillar then followed his gaze. Athena was on the ground, ichor leaking out of her and Apate standing over.
"Any last words?" She asked. Somehow, I was right behind her in seconds.
"Yeah. Stay away from my girlfriend." I growled and stuck my scythe in her rib cage. My energy escaped as Apate sank to the floor but I ran to Athena.
"Rain. Rain!" I held her in my arms and she smiled, ichor dripping from her lips.
"Forest, I'm here. Don't worry. I'm a god. I can't die. Just....stay with me?" She asked, squeezing my hand and I cried.
"Y-Yeah, I got you." I looked around.
"Ummm, Apollo? APOLLO! I need you!" I yelled, wondering if anything would happen. It had to. Rain had to be alright. I wouldn't be able to deal with it if she...
"Bruh. I was in a concert, little demigod. What's the problem?" A voice behind me asked. I turned around to see a blonde teenager with glowing skin and golden hair and eyes smirking at me.
"A-Athena. Please help her." I whispered.
"Dude, no worries. She's gonna be fine." Apollo started tending to Athena when a voice sounded out.
"Demeter's Spawn! You cannot hide!" The ground broke open and suddenly, Hades stood behind me and I turned around.
"I'm not in the mood, old man." I hissed, fed up with everything when-
He shoved a sword through my stomach. I looked up at him as I crumbled, eyes already fading.
~~~~~Ares' POV~~~~~
Okay. I just met that little god/demigod thing. But she was the coolest half mortal I've ever seen. And I wasn't about to let Hades, of all people, destroy her.
"Hey, you! Old withered soul collector!" Yeah, I was taunting him. But I'm the god of war. I could've killed that little...Forest? But I didn't.
"Back away now, Ares." He hissed. Nah, this would be easy. I threw a handful of daggers half-heartedly and they trapped him to a pillar. I started walking towards him.
"Here's the thing. You will leave that girl alone or, so help me, you will feel the wrath of the god of war. Got that?" I asked, looking him dead (Ha!) in the eyes.
"No-"
I cut him off by cutting his left pinkie off.
"I invented torturing techniques. Don't mess with me." I growled and he yielded.
"Why don't you want her to die?! Olympus will fall and chaos will reign!" Hades spit, obviously angry.
"My sister is finally happy. She's been lonely forever and she deserves happiness, ya jerk." I spit in his face then punched it until it was bloody and the pillar was cracked and falling.
"Fine! Stupid." He glared, barely able to breathe or talk.
"Whatever." I grinned then kicked him into the ground so he was in the Underworld. I turned and looked at Forest. She smiled up at me as Apollo walked over.
"Thanks, dude." She smiled weakly and Athena ran over to me.
"Did you just-"
"Yeah, sis. Nobody hurts anyone my sister likes." I nodded and hugged her. She smiled and I walked over to Apollo.
"She gonna be okay?" I asked. He nodded.
"Yah, bruh. She heals incredibly for a demigod but I think it's cuz she's on Gaea's realm." He responded, pouring something in her mouth.
"Great. She's our future. It'd be a shame if she was destroyed."
~~~~~Forest's POV~~~~~
My gut felt terrible. Like someone had-Oh wait, yeah. I was stabbed. I opened my eyes and a golden angel was standing before me.
"Did I die?" I croaked, my throat feeling as if someone poured sand down it.
"Nah, dude. It's me, Apollo. You survived against a fight with three gods." The angel said. Suddenly, I remembered everything. I struggled to get up.
"Bruh, calm down. Stay down. We're about to go to Olympus." He responded. I blinked, then looked around. Rain was holding my hand and Ares was helping Apollo bandage my midsection.
"So, everything is okay?" I asked, cautious as I took a look at all the ichor and blood across the once green grass.
"Yeah, of course. You just need some nectar and ambrosia and you'll be fine. You'll eat it once you're up there." Rain responded, smiling at me.
"Great. Let's go to Olympus."
