My eyes are hard to keep open, all I can see is crowds of people gathering around my head.A sharp pain circuits through my body as obnoxious citizens gather around, chattering about my current situation.
"Is she dead?"
"Should I call an ambulance?!"
"What's happening?"
I turned my head slowly to face jess. She was drowning in the questions, fired at her left and right.
Sirens were heard in the distance, and grew louder, causing my head to sting.
My eyes screw shut, and fast steps get closer and closer to the ever growing crowd. A pathway emerges from the people, and a paramedic ran through, crouching by my head.
"Ok, everyone please give the girl some space" Ringing sounded in my ears, and everyone's voices became muffled, before all I could see, was an endless black abyss.
-----
Faint beeping was heard beside me, along with the quiet ticking of a clock in the background.
I opened my eyes much to quickly, only to be slightly blinded by the brightness of the fresh sun.
I don't know what time it is, where I am or what I'm doing here, and all I want to do is go back to my un consciousness state.
As I regain sight again, I search around the room. The walls were white, and plain, with only a clock hanging on the old paint.
I was tucked up in an uncomfortable bed, with blue sheets.
The sheets were crisp, itchy and cold. Beside me, was a big machine, beeping every so often, causing me to go slightly crazy.
Suddenly, the door clicked open, and Jess walked through. Relief washed over her features as she ran over to my bedside, and kneeled by my head.
"Oh my god Erin, I was so worried about you" She hugged me tightly, her arms were soft around my neck, compared to the rough sheets enveloping my body.
"W-wha-" I try to speak but my throat is dry, and I start to cough uncontrollably.
Quickly, jess hands me a cold looking glass of a water, and within seconds it was down my throat.
"W-what happened?" I splutter, my words still slightly dry.
"I-I-" A doctor walked through the door, before jess could say anything and started to speak.
"Ah Erin your awake, now I have a few questions to ask you, do you feel prepared to answer them?"
I nodded, only to screw my eyes shut from the pain emitting from my head.
"Are you experiencing any memory loss, uncontrollable bleeding or anything else?"
"Well, I can't really remember leaving the villa... but other than that it's just a headache"
"Hmm... well it appears you have a very mild case of amnesia, but only of the past events, would you like me to tell you what happened?" I nodded softly again, trying to create as little pain as possible.
"Well, while you were asleep a few boys were playing with some rocks, until one of them around the size of a phone came to you, I can only guess because you didn't feel the contact with your head that the rock knocked you out in your sleep, but luckily your friend here woke you from un consciousness, and If she didn't you could have suffered a lot longer term memory loss. While being carried to the ambulance you went again, and you were very lucky, if the rock had gone even a few more millimetres deeper, it could have caused you, temporary or even permanent brain damage" I looked at the doctor in shock, knowing that with a little but of a harder throw, I could have had brain damage.
