Jess POV
Me and Phil. Phil and I. Jess and Phil. It just sounded right. Ever since the beginning I was sure that Phil was the one I love, even through boyfriend after boyfriend, fling after fling. Phil was always on my mind. His hair, his eyes, his laugh, everything about him was perfect.
And now, sitting in his warm, comforting presence, I felt like my life was back on track. Clean of drugs, confusion and heartbreak.
"Do you perhaps want to come to dinner with me?" Phil asks, fubling nervously with his fingers.
"I'd love to" I replied. A smile spread across Phil's flushed cheeks, before he kissed me lightly on the cheek. No words between us were really spoken, just small smiles, kisses, and sighs. It was perfect. With Erin and Dan in their own world wherever they were, it meant that we could be alone.
Ever since I met Phil my life had been this emotional rollercoaster that simply wasn't worth waiting for. If you sit there and do nothing, chances are that nothing will change, and you will just find your self in a dark spiral of heartache and misery that seems almost impossible to escape from.
However the escape route is easy. Courage, a big factor in this, was the hardest to achieve. But the more courageous you are, the easier it is to escape this reign of torture. Erin was terrified of this step. It took her three years to work out that she didn't need to be in a high paid job to feel fufilled and stable, all she needed was abit of courage and the man she loved.
The ring played a big part in Erin's step up. Without that on her hand she would have never realised the amount of power she had over herself.
Now we've all been through our existencial crisis', we can relax, and just let the rest of everything play by slowly.
Dan POV
Erin was back. That was the only thought I had running through my mind whilst I sat impatiently in YouTube, waiting for this boring meeting to finish. Knowing that she was back at my- our flat, was comforting, but also irritating because I'm here, not there.
"Right everyone, so here are the stats for our mostrecent view counts" My manager says, reading over the slide show. "Sponsers right now are good, could be better so I want you all to put as much effort as you can into this months videos. Make. Something Viral" He says. At this point I was blanking out, as was everyone else in this room. No noise. The only thing I could hear was the clock ticking agonisingly slowly, as I watched my managers lips move.
"Thank you" Those words were a clear indicator for us all to leave. WIth no hesitation, I grab my bag and coat, before walking out of the room and straight into the bitter London air. Despite how slow my mind was moving, everything around me was so fast and immediate.
Hopping on my bus, I pull out my phone, and text Erin to say I'm on my way, before shoving it back in my pocket and watching the world whiz by. Once I reach the flat door, I notice Erin sitting on the sofa, flipping through one of her fashion magazines. As soon as she notices me, she hops up and runs into my arms.
"How was work?" She asks, swaying side to side.
"Boring as usual" I pout, as Erin kisses my soflty.
"Why don't we do something fun to brighten your day then" Erin smiles innocently, taking my hand and leading me to the sofa, before switching on the T.V. "Jeremy Kyle?" She winks. We both laugh, before settling on watching some boring episode of planet earth.
About 20 minutes into the episode, I feel Erin's head flop onto my shoulder, before even breaths are heard escaping her soft lips. Carefully, I lift her so I was carrying her bridal style, before walking her into our room.
I place her soflty on the bed, before placicng a soft kiss to the top of her head. Her blonde hair was perfectly smooth as I traled down her back, and her eylashes rested so peacefully of her blushed cheeks. Her chest rose and fell so rhythmically as she laid on the black white an grey sheets.
The way her hands rested below her head, and her legs curled up towards her chest was relaxing, as I knew she was comfortable and peaceful. Looking at the sleeping beauty one last time, I switched off the light, before shutting the door behind me.
