*Note: Wow 2019 has finally arrived and I hav never been happier. Sorry for not updating on this chapter, a lot has happened to me. The one thing out of the many things that has caused me to be more productive was my loving friends and supportive boyfriend. Here goes Chapter 4! It'll be really short, so be warned, I had to add a new character to balance out the relationship between the main character and other characters.
["There was time before organisms experienced consciousness, and there will be time after. And if the inevitability of human oblivion worries you, I encourage you to ignore it." - Peter Van Houten]
As night falls, the First Quarter rises upon us, glazing the horses in a sheer, glaze of the moonlight. Individual streams of light trickled my skin and gave Jon's eyes a twinkle. "What are you lookin' at, darling?" I look away and stare into the beyond, not noticing how red the sky has became. "The Blood Moon shall arise momentarily, gather your weapons at the ready."
Marks stares at me, bewildered, "What on Earth is a heckin' blood moon?" I look at him, unable to answer. Paranoia washes over me as I stopped the carriage. Groans and moans blew passed me as the wind quickened. "I have vowed to protect you, sir. Let me do this." The abominations emerges from the tall grass, ready to strike against me. Marks was shook, unable to figure out how I heard the attack from a distance and how to help.
"A woman?! Mwahahaha! This is hysterical! How is a woman with such scrawny features, going to defeat—" I slashed his head off in a swoop. Jaws dropped and a lingering silence made its way. Marks finally sounded his gun, causing the creatures to scatter away into the shadows. "What in the world were you thinkin'? Have you lost your mind, little lady? What give you the right mind to sacrifice yourself for that?" He spats. "You caused me a great scare there. Don't do that again." He huffed a large gust of breath and glared at me firmly.
"I did what I had to, to protect those I befriend. There are these 2 bakers that care deeply for my safety, Lucy and Emma, I would protect them with my life. I would do the same for you, so don't look at me like I am the crazy lunatic. I just saved your life, be grateful." I glared back in fury. Suddenly, I spotted an entrance to another dimension, frustrated that we could have walked to this. "There it is." I took off the bridle off my steed and hopped on, "Hurry up, get a move on. I do not wait for ignorant people in my emotional state." Marks looked at me with soft eyes, guilt washed over with him. "Miss Jae, I'm awful sorry about my shoutin--" I cut him off, "Silence. I do not wish to speak for the rest of the night, respect thy wishes."
The Abode of Hellfire. An old friend of my father's, his son shall present to me as an ally. "Lord of Hell, Lucifer, and his heir, Lord Leviathan. My allies, the most trusted." I said in a stern tone, obviously still frustrated at Marks. "My Lord," I have started, "I ask for your guidance and require your son to join us in battle."
