Chapter 7
*1 month later*
I was still with Beau; and Luke for that matter. I like Beau, I really do, but I can’t forgive him for what he did to me- but do I really wanna hurt him like that? By now Beau was supposed to find out about me and Luke, but he hadn’t. There was a part of me that didn’t want him to.
Luke was like no other guy I’d ever met; he was kind hearted, compassionate and he knew how to make me laugh. It’s like when I think of him I can’t help but smile… It was like in an instance a thought came into my mind;
Was I really falling for Luke Brooks?
Of course I wasn’t.

I pulled a pair of denim shorts over my legs, covering my bikini bottoms and tucked my blue vest into them before pulling my hair into a messy bun and sliding a pair of sunglasses over my head. My phone buzzed loudly and I picked it up, reading the text from Beau that was planted on the screen;
‘I’m outside beautiful :) xx’
I smiled slightly, stuffing my phone into my pocket before heading out the door. I walked down the path, Beau’s head still glued to his phone. I knocked on the window, his head shooting up. He smiled at me, unlocking the door. I slid in and Beau leaned over, placing a sweet but lasting kiss onto my lips. I smiled into the kiss before drawing back and leaning back onto the seat.
“How are you?” Beau asked with a smile.
“I’m good, what about you?” I asked in return.
“Better now that I’ve seen you!” He said, a smile following his words.
“You’re just one big cheese fest!” I laughed, hitting his arm playfully. He laughed along with me until he fell to an abrupt silence.
“What’s wrong?” I asked him, my voice filled with genuine concern.
“I was just thinking…about Luke.” He said quickly. My skin began to feel warm and my breathing became shallow. He doesn’t know does he? ‘He’s just acting a bit weird, he keeps avoiding me and whenever you’re there he gives me these looks…” He trailed off, his voice quietening.
“I’m sure it’s nothing…” I whispered.
“Yeah you’re probably right.” He smiled, placing his hand on my bare knee. “But I think he might have a little crush, I think he secretly always has.” He laughed, staring obliviously through the car window. I let out a faint chuckle. Beau had no idea.
“So who’s gonna be at yours today?” I asked, swiftly changing the subject. It was a hot day in Melbourne so we all decided to chill by pool.
“Me, you, Jai, Daniel, James, Luke and some girl.” He told me, his voice back to it’s confident self.
“Some girl?” I asked
“I think her name is Sara?” He told me. “She’s a friend of Luke’s, from school I think.” He said. A friend? I mulled her name over in my mind, trying to think of who she was.
*
Beau took my hand and led me into house, his hand was warm and inviting but it just wasn’t the same. We strolled into the kitchen to see Luke and who I presumed to be Sara stood, blissfully chatting to each other. Luke’s head shot up and his eyes caught gaze with mine and he smirked, making me do the same in return. His eyes fell on my hand that was still entwined with Beau’s and his smirked faded and he ran his hands begrudgingly through his dishevelled curls; he always acted this way around me when I was with Beau.
