-Luke’s P.O.V*-
I heard the door open and footsteps resonate through the air.
“Jai is that you?” I asked from the living room, flipping through the channels on the TV.
“Erm-Yeah..” He muttered, his voice crackling slightly, like he was nervous. He walked into the living room and fell onto the other sofa.
“So how was it?” I asked him.
“Yeah it was good actually..I don’t know how some people think they have a ‘talent’!” He laughed and I laughed along with him.
“Did she ask where I was?” I asked him
“Yeah she did.” He told me, rubbing his temple.
“You didn’t say did you?!” I asked, my voice louder and more consumed by panic.
“Of course I didn’t!” He told me. “But you have to tell her Luke.” He said, his voice more somber.
“I know…but I can’t…I don’t know how..” My face fell to the floor. It was the truth. I had no idea how I was going to look into her eyes and tell her that I’d found someone new. She’d hurt me, but that didn’t matter anymore.
“It’s gonna break her Luke..” He told me.
“You don’t think I know that Jai?” I said angrily, standing up from my seat. “The moment I tell her that will be the end. The real end!” I turned around and ran into my room slamming the door behind me.

I held Kalli in my arms, the heat from her body radiating onto mine and her head resting on my shoulder.
Even after everything she’d but me through, I honestly did care about her and to see her crying, I couldn’t help but feel awful.
“I’m such a mess!” She laughed, pulling away and wiping the tears from below her eyes.
“You could never be a mess.” I told her truthfully, our eyes meeting solidly for a moment. She smiled and her eyes gleamed through her tears.
“Thanks.” She whispered, giggling slightly.
“I’ve missed your laugh you know!” I told her honestly.
“I’ve missed you you know!” She mimicked my tone, fiddling with her hands. It was something she always did when she was nervous. My stomach fluttered as the words left her mouth.
“I’ve missed you too Kal.” I smiled. “We should probably get back to school.” I laughed and she did the same. I stood up and reached out my hand for her to take it and she did.
We walked alongside each other making minimal conversation, but the silence wasn’t awkward.
“Jai told me about your Dad Kal, I’m sorry..” I told her, putting my arm around her shoulder.
“Thanks Luke.” She said, turning her head to face me, a faint smile on her lips.
We reached the school gates and attempted to walk in quietly but Kalli’s giggles filled the hallways.
“Well I have media, I’ll see you later Kal.” I smiled, hugging her.
“Thank you,” She whispered into my ear as we embraced.
“For what?” I replied.
“I don’t know really, just everything.” She smiled. We both laughed before separating and walking away from each other.
