"Mister Kaminari?"

Denki stood up, stumbling slightly as the world spun. He felt Kyoka's grip his unbroken arm and offer a reassuring smile as he steadied himself. "How's Eijiro?" he asked the doctor.

The white coated man glanced down at the clipboard in his hand. "He his multiple cuts and bruises from the rubble and two of his ribs were broken. His legs were crushed and he has sprained his wrist. We have him on an IV at the moment and we're just waiting for him to wake up."

Denki nodded, biting his lip as the thought of Eijiro protecting him from the rubble spun around in his mind. "May I see him?" he asked.

The doctor nodded and led him and Kyoka down endless halls until they came to a small, isolated door.

"Is this Eijiro's room?" Denki asked in a quiet tone.

The doctor nodded once more. "Keep your voices down," he ordered. "He needs to rest and recover." he glared at Denki's broken arm. "That goes for you too."

Denki nodded and stepped into the room, Kyoka gently supporting him and helping him to a chair by the bed.

"You heard the doctor," Kyoka told the blond, "you need to rest as much as he does." She nodded at Eijiro's sleeping form and got to her feet. "Mina will be here in a minute to keep an eye on you. Don't do anything stupid while you're alone."

Denki smiled weakly and nodded his head. Since Class A had discovered that he was alive, they refused to let him out of their sight—even if it meant having at least one classmate follow him around and pledge their life to protect him.

It was nice to feel wanted.

Denki turned to face Eijiro's pale, bandaged form laying on the hospital bed. A small IV trailed from his arm, hidden by the bandages covering his skin. "You were pretty brave out there," he told the red head. "You saved my life." he smiled as he recalled the past few years. "I guess we're even now." he winced in pain and rested his broken arm on the edge of the bed. "So," he began in a hushed tone, "I'm engaged now to a beautiful woman I met at my school. She has a healing quirk. She actually saved my life and helped me heal when I first came to the Omega school. Shes so pretty." he sighed as his cheeks turned a deep red. "Gosh, I love her. You got to get better before my wedding okay? I don't want you to miss it."

"...wasn't...planning on it..."

Denki jerked his head up with a gasp upon hearing Eijiro's weak voice. A smile crossed his lips. "Glad to see you're awake," he smiled. "We all missed you."

Eijiro laughed weakly and slowly sat up in bed. "You missed me?" he repeated. "Even Katsuki?"

Denki nodded and wrapped his good arm around Eijiro's shoulders in a gentle embrace. "Thanks," he whispered in his friend's ear, "you're my hero, Eijiro."

His friend smiled and leaned back in the bed letting his eyes drift closed. "You're my hero too, Denki," he whispered before letting sleep claim him.

Denki grinned and leaned back in his chair, heart swelling with pride.

Hero.

He liked the sound of that.
