[Your POV]

I had been cooped up in my dorm all day, studying diligently for my stupid Charms exam, my last exam of the term. I had secretly hoped that Remus Lupin, my ex-boyfriend, and his stupid friends would come and keep me company.
On Valentine's Day, instead of receiving chocolates and flowers from my boyfriend at the time, Remus, I received word from Remus who told James who told Sirius who told Lily who told me - that Remus was going to break up with me. So, I broke up with him before he even had a chance to speak to me.
I have to admit, I hadn't seen him look that crestfallen in forever, but he just said nothing and walked away. Though I was still hopeful that somehow we would get back together, I had to admit I was a bit surprised when none of the Marauders pestered me to get back with Remus as they previously done. Why would they, anyways? Remus wanted this.
From then on, I kept conversing with Remus to the bare minimum - only talking to him when I needed to, for example in class. I did catch myself often mentally cursing myself for not confronting Remus about the rumours instead of just breaking up with him like that. I would always shake it off, though - I was done with him.
As for the Marauders, we were still friends. It was awkward from then on, but I still managed to have conversations with them - though, it felt as each day, my bond with them broke even more.
The last time I had a conversation with them was about a week ago, and we were talking about our Herbology exam that had taken place.
As I was lost in my thoughts, the door swung open and snapped me back to reality. It was Lily, of course, my best friend and conveniently James' girlfriend.
"Oh hey," I greeted her with a half smile, "where were you?"
"At James'," she said as she took her shoes off, "I was just talking to him about Hogsmeade this weekend."
"Oh," I said, a bit upset she hadn't mentioned Remus at all, "yeah, I forgot, the last Hogsmeade trip of the term before summer holidays."
"That's right," she said, jumping into her bed, "and you're coming with me."
I snapped my book shut and rolled my eyes. "No bloody way, Lily. Sorry, but I'm not as close to your boyfriend and his friends anymore. I am not spending the whole day with them. Thanks, but I refuse."
"Oh, simmer down, will you? Remus is not even going to be there. Just Sirius and James. It's just the group of us. You're my best friend, Sirius is James', c'mon, (Y/N), it'll be fun. I promise." she said solemnly.
My cheeks reddened when she mentioned Remus' name. "This is not about Remus. To be factual, I couldn't care less what Remus is doing. I just - it's going to be weird, okay? The only thing I talk to them about is homework and exams. Okay?"
"Lucky for you, because our last exam is tomorrow, so you're going to be talking to them about other stuff, not boring homework. Please, (Y/N), just come with me. Please." she poured her lips and widened her eyes like a child.
I thought about it. Remus wasn't going to be there, so it wasn't going to be as awkward. Plus, Lily was going to Vancouver all summer with her parents, so I wouldn't get to see her.
I sighed and threw my hands up. "Fine. But any funny business - any at all..." [I had to, sorry lmaoo]
She sprung up from her bad and gave me a tight hug. "It's going to be fun! I promise!" she held me by my shoulders and shook me lightly.
"Yeah, whatever, just let me finish studying. If I fail this exam, mum and dad are going to have a fit," I said, knowing good and well my parents would probably ground me until I was 30 if I were to fail an exam.

*time skip - day of Hogsmeade*

"Can you stop running so quickly," I panted, struggling to keep up with Lily who was running so fast to The Three Broomsticks that I was sure she could run a marathon, "slow down, it's not like they're going to leave," I stopped and bent down, my hands on my knees.
"Come on, (Y/N)! I'm really thirsty for some Butterbeer," she yelled, a few paces in front of me.
"The Butterbeer's still going to be there," I grumbled and trudged along the rocky path.
It was a beautiful June day, with the sun shining and excited chatter from Hogwarts students all around Hogsmeade, discussing summer holiday plans or what they assumed they got on their exams. As beautiful as the day was - my mood was the opposite. I was not looking forward to meeting James and Sirius - and Lily made me get up early which made me grumpy first thing in the morning. Sure, I was happy to spend the day with her, but being with James and Sirius made me feel uneasy.
When I finally reached the entrance, I reluctantly pushed the door open and saw Lily settling down with James, Sirius, Peter (I thought he wasn't going to be there...) and - REMUS?
I turned around so quickly that I almost knocked over a chair as I heard Lily call me.
"(Y/N)? (Y/N)! Come back! Wait!"

[Lily's POV]

I was in the middle of greeting the Marauders when I heard the door open and saw a terrified (Y/N), leaving as soon as she came.
"Shit," I mumbled as I grabbed my bag and went to follow her.
I turned around to see three confused Marauders, along with a very upset Remus. My heart broke because I knew (Y/N) didn't want to listen to what he had to say.
I saw her sitting outside of The Three Broomsticks, face in her lap.
I went to touch her lightly on the arm, "(Y/N)," I said, but she smacked my hand away.
She looked up briefly and I understood that she wasn't sad - just angry.
"You promised he wasn't going to be there. What, you wanted me to make a fool of myself, huh? Just expected me to take him back after telling his friends like a loser, that he was going to break up with me, instead of telling me to my face? Dear Godric, Lily, I thought you were my best friend. I thought you would be more considerate," she raged.
"(Y/N)..." I started, upset but not surprised, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have told you that he wasn't going to be there because that was the whole point of going today. He wants to explain himself, (Y/N). And I know he has hurt you in the past, but he really wants to make it better. Please - give him a chance to explain, at least. He looked shattered when you tore out of the room," I explained, "please. Do it for me."
"Let him be shattered, then," she grumbled, "it's always explaining with him. He wouldn't have to explain anything if he grew a pair and said what he wanted to, to my face. Plus, it's been 4 months. He should've explained sooner," she began to get up and dust herself off.
"(Y/N), please," I said, attempting to grab her arm which angered her more.
"I thought you, of all people, would understand, Lily. I guess not." She turned on her heel and walked away.

[Remus' POV]

As Lily walked back in, looking defeated, without (Y/N), my heart sunk. It was my fault all of this happened - and I couldn't make it right.
"I'm so sorry, Rem," she said tiredly, her fingertips massaging her temples, "I really tried - I explained to her that you wanted to explain yourself. But she just lashed out and walked away."
I sunk even further in my chair and groaned. "This is all my fault. It's always my f*cking fault."
James slapped me sympathetically on my back. "Don't worry, mate, just get her some chocolates and flowers and she'll be putty in your hands. Trust me. Girls love that," he winked at Lily.
"Oh shut your trap, arsehole," Lily said as she smacked him across the forehead, "Rem really hurt her. There's no way he's going to win her back with just chocolate and flowers."
"She's right, Prongs," Sirius said, "Moony's screwed big time unless he thinks of something big - big and fast, mind you. Last day of school is a week from today," he clicked his tongue.
"Sounds like what you need is a foolproof plan," said someone's voice, emerging from behind us, "and I know just what to do."
We turned around, baffled, to see who it was.
Severus Snape.
