"Wake up Devlan. You're going against your father today. Don't try anything nice today okay. If you do, you know what's coming after that. We know you have the potential." Eion says to me. He's the nicer ones out of the scientists. But he's still one of them, with the same goal and intentions towards me and the 72 others. I am leaded by a big man, towering over me to make sure I get to where I'm supposed to be without any troubles.
I enter the large white dome. At the other side, I see dad, standing there, staring down at the white tiles. Usually he stood in a very intimadating way, but today was different. I could read the hesatation, worry, confusion, sadness, anger, and hurt all over his body. I can't stand hurting him, he's most precious thing I have right now, and I was sure he feels the same way towards me. But our opinions don't matter. All that does matter is the superiors' opinions and what they want to they with us.
We walk towards our positions and the alarm goes off. Dad lashes out slowly than he usually does, with less force. I take it as a sign for me to attack him first. Guilt swallows me and he drops to the ground, and I see a trickle of blood run from his lips. I pin him to the ground, punching him repeatedly. He is struggling to get up and fight back, but kindness is written all over his ice blue and green eyes. Tears streak down my face as I silently attack him. I mouth I'm sorry over and over until he passes out. I get up and return to the exit I was leaded through, returning to the lab. Eion praises me for my improvement on the attacks, but knows how hard it was for me. He leaves after he pats my head gently, and I am left to cry. I cry buckets and buckets. What have I done, I think to myself.
I let out a long breath as I simultaneously open my eyes. Why now. Why do I have to dream back to it now, I ask myself. I see the same ceiling I saw when I first met Bones, I except some handcuffs on me, or some kind of drug to prevent me from doing anything but breath and blink. But nothing. I can move my fingers, toes, arms, legs freely. I can let out groans. And I'm not stuck to the bed in any way. I sit up and rub my eyes. This is just getting wierd.
"Good morning."
I jump at the sudden voice and look other to where the sound came from. It's Jim, at the side of the bed.
"Have you been watching me while I was sleeping?"
"Not the whole time, I came here a few minutes ago to check up on how you were doing. You ok? You look pale."
I almost thought of smiling at his consideration, but quickly remembering why I was sleeping again in the first place. Jim must have realised my expression, for he quickly spoke up.
"Listen, I understand that it might be a little bit quick for you. You know, waking up from a 300 year sleep, then being taken in, then the next thing you know, you're going on ship! But we have good reasons."
I raised one of my eyebrows at his last sentence. If he's going to say he's going after The Maker too, I think I might freak out.
"We're going after The Maker too, and we need you and your father's help." Well shit.
After a few second of silence. I looked into Jim's warm, blue eyes and asked the question.
"Then why did you try to hurt me?"
Jim looked down at my words and rubbed his neck as he answered my question.
"Look, we really didn't mean to do it. Since your body was in a state of failing from the sudden stress, as the medical team found out, we needed you to rest as much as possible until we head out to battle. We didn't know you had a terrible past until your dad told us. Sorry..."
I let out a small oh as I looked down at my folded legs. It was the first time I have felt so embassed and guilty since I woken up.
"I'm sorry too. I hope nobody's hurt or anything, and Bones too. I should have been more aware of my surroundings. Usually I'm not like that."
Jim looked up at me and smiled a little, until an annoucement came from overhead that he is to come to the bridge immediately.
"Well, duty calls. I see you later Devlan."
I smiled back and waved a little as he ran out the room.
As I sat in my bed and sorted out the facts, I noticed that I have made another mistake.
I forgot to ask Jim about his mentions of my father!
I swore under my breath, but since I know nothing about where I am and where this "bridge" is, I stuck with looking out the window. I was at the 60th floor of Starfleet Headquarters, as I soon found out by observing. I marveled for some time at the advanced technology. I was fascinated at the people travelling by the flying vehicles, which I was on top of a day ago. The building's size were far more bigger, but the people seemed not to change much.
After a couple of hours, a woman came in and checked on my temperature and heart beat. As she made sure that they were stable, she helped me get to my feet and led me through the halls. As always, people would glance towards me. Some I would meet eyes with and they would smile a little at me. I couldn't help but blush, and had pink cheeks when I had finally reached my destanation. The woman infromed a guard that I was transported safely and as she went, I waved a goodbye at her, which she replied with a warm smile. I am suprised at how calm I am right now, maybe it might be the sedatives' effects. I turned my attention to the man in front of me. Then he started to lead me though more halls and into a room with a circular desk and people sitting beside it. The men that led me here saluted and left me to be the center of attention.
The door hissed behind me, and the lighting dimmed a little. I couldn't help but tense up a little. Sheesh, over-dramatic people, I mumbled to myself. Then, one man stood up, whom happened to be Jim.
"Devlan Noonien Singh." He said.
How the heck does he know my full name? I think to myself.
"You have been called upon here to discuss our operation to eliminate The Maker. From now on you will speak the truth, understand?"
I winced at how his attitude changed so dramaticaly. I replied calmy,
"I believe you do not have the right to ask all the information from me sir, but I will mostly do so, for you are my friend."
Jim seems to be a little suprised that I have called him a friend, but winked at me before sitting down in his chair again.
"Miss Singh, is it true that you are the daughter of Khan Noonien Singh?"
Oh no, I thought, dad always said not to reveal information about family members, what do I do?
Few moments passed as I thought of my answer until it was answered by a famaliar voice.
"Now, Mr.Kirk, you do not have to make my daughter feel uneasy like that do you?"
The man that spoke turned his head towards me, revealing his smiling face to my vision.
"Hello, did you sleep well?"
