Devlan POV:

Ridge finally lets go of my hand when we enter another large room. I look around and see more tubes lining up endlessly. Ridge marvels at his surroundings and sighs.

"Look at how many races we can rule together Devlan. Isn't it beautiful?"

The tubes shine a bright green and shine the unborn aliens, floating in the liquid that's containing them.

"Are they sleeping?" I ask.

"No actually. They're all wide awake and aware of what's around them. They're so loyal to their daddy. Some of the phychic ones communicate with me. They're so cute!"

He peers into a tube near him, and taps gently. I hear a soft giggle inside my head. They're responding!

I glance into Ridge's soft eyes. He hasn't changed a bit since we last met.

"What are you looking at?" He laughs. I chuckle at his remark.

"Can't believe a guy like you would ever think of killing billions of lives. It's insane!"

Ridge's expressions suddenly darkens. He looks down at his feet.

"It's the only way you and I can be safe forever, Devlan. I may be insane but I'm insane for you!"

He looks up at me with pleading eyes. To think that I have to kill him for billions of innocent others makes perfect sense. But I can't help but let my own emotions interfere with it. I care of him too much. Tears start to pour out my eyes again, and they seem unstoppable. Ridge jumps up at my actions and looks confused of what to do. He then quickly pulls me into an awkward hug. I do nothing to stop him and relish his embrace.

"Does this make you feel better?" He asks worringly.

"Yup." I reply, exaggerating the "P".

Jim's POV:

I almost jump onto my chair as I ask Sulu for the current number of ships that are with us.

"It is 4 sir. They all have fully packed weapons ready  to fire anytime."

I thank Sulu and push the button to reach to The Maker's ship.

"Maker, hand over Devlan now, or we will be forced to fire and take Devlan back ourselves with guns set to kill."

A reply comes not long afterwards.

"You have started a war captain!"

The Makers says in a sing song like voice and cuts the communication.

"Mr.Sulu, tell them to start firng in three minutes." I order.

"Capatin, we are going to save the girl, are we?" Spocks comes out of nowhere and asks.

"While The Maker and possibly the Klingons, who looked like they were working for him, are distracted by the attacks, we go and get her back. Simple."

I answer. Khan looks on at the screen in front of us without saying a word, but quickly turns his back and heads to the elevator.

Me and Spock quickly go after him and head to the transport station. There we meet Scotty, pushing away at the buttons busily.

"Ya know, Jim, I won't be able to beam ya back up until you get back that girl."

Scotty says sternly without looking at me.

"Isn't that what I'm supposed to say?" I laugh.

"No, cap, I'm serious. GET THAT GIRL OUTTA THERE."
