Khan's POV

I look down upon the lifeless body of my daughter. Her blood, still warm, is forming puddles below her. The explosions and the frantic sounds coming from around me are loud, but I take no attention towards them as I hear the drops of blood pooling around her, and now to my knees. Devlan is still breathing and well awake, but she acknowledges that she will die soon, and is staring into my eyes.

I stare back to her, saying nothing. I sense the slow coldness take place in her body as I cup her small face in my hands. The strokes of my thumb on her cheeks seem to please her, and she does nothing to stop, although I'm sure she has the strength to do anything now.

Don't give up yet.

The same voice I have been hearing, now more clear, rings in my head. I raise my head towards the small white figure standing in front of me.

We can help her.

There seems to be no mouth to the creature, but I don't care. I look back to my daughter and nuzzle my face into her neck, feeling her comfort for what will be the last time.

Trust us.

The voice continues on. All I want is to stay with my Devlan, and they dare stop me?

"Leave us alone."

I struggle out the words and kiss Devlan's forehead. My poor darling.

"Khan, we have to go!"

The captain yells out, but I do not budge. I won't dare leave my daughter alone.

Khan, she will be safe. Leave this to us.

Leave her? The thought of of it enrages me and I lunge out at the white figures, now in numbers of hundreds. But I am not even a foot away from them when a jolt of electricity runs through my body three times and I fall to the ground, barely conscious.

"Khan, we need to go."

Kirk is surprisingly calm, and small white lights circulate around me, and I am beamed back to the Enterprise.

Devlan's POV

I watch in fear as dad is being beamed back. He looks at me in despair, and Jim and Spock are watching me with eyes of pity and sadness. Scotty is sobbing and repeatedly saying my name over and over again. So this is how I'll end, I think to myself.

As soon as the four figures disappear, the white creatures gather around me. Now in more bigger numbers. I wince in confusion.

Don't worry, you'll be alright.

I'll be alright. The words make silent tears to fall while the sounds and frequency of the explosions and flames grow bigger and violent.

The creature flash their heads and I am surrounded in a small transparent dome. Except one stays in the dome with me, and it touched my wound gently with one of its limbs. Bright golden lights fill where it touched, and I hear my heart beat once, twice, and now at a regular pace.

Bye, Devlan.

Those are the last words I hear when the ship is engulfed in flames.
