Chapter Eight: Trust and Respect

        As I was escorted to the bed I am sleeping for tonight for tommorow's big day, dad explained to me about what happened 5 years ago. At the end, he was able to be back with me and the crew again, but it frightened me to know that while I was asleep, I was in the danger of being killed. Dad also explained how he missed me and how dearly he thought of me. Which, I have to say, was tickilish.

        I layed down onto the bed and look into dad's eyes properly for the first time since we met. He looks more happier than I have ever seen him. In a world without anyone to be slaved by, he was right to be happy, and so was I.

"You know, I want to know what you have been hiding from me."

He sounds more serious now. To be honest, his death glare never gets old.

"Like I said, I wish not to say it in front of you." I reply, as calmly as I can.

He strokes my cheek with the back of his big and strong hand. "Why?" He sadly asks me.

"Because it will hurt you and it might end up getting all of us killed."

I saw the man in front of me tense at the sudden words and looked at me with a worry filled face.

"What did you do?"

"I did what was right at the moment, but a debt to be paid after. But if everything goes all right, then it'll be fine."

I assured him in hopes of making him feel better. Of course you wouldn't feel good when your daughter made a decision that will affect her life. Oh boy. I sigh to myself in my head.

        Dad still seems to be worried but sat on a chair beside the bed and sat down on it. He rested his head on his hand and starts to stroke my hair with his other. I relish this moment I have been yearning for forever and slip into a deep sleep knowing that my father will be there, next to me.

"Goodnight, my love." I hear him say as my mind goes deep.
