Khan's Pressure Point

Chapter Eighteen: Last

Scotty's POV

Khan is still shocked from leaving Devlan behind, and all he does is stare into the white floor. Jim and Spock start walking away and barking out orders, but I see Jim's tears on his cheeks and say nothing. Every one of us is hurt, and all we can do is hope for those white creatures. I stay with Khan in the transport room, and sit down like him. A few seconds passed when we feel a jolt of force throughout the ship.

"Scotty! Khan! We need you over here now!"

Jim's voice echoes through the halls, and Khan jolts and up and goes running to the bridge at a speed I can't keep up with.

"The planet......"

Khan whispers out. I am still trying to catch my breath, but I go silent like the others as the whole planet is being destroyed by the explosion from the ship.

"Oh my god."

I whisper out. Spock is trembling and Khan is now still, but his face is plastered with grief.

My emotions start swimming and I break down onto the ground, thinking of how painful it would have been for the poor girl. A girl her age shouldn't have gone through such a gruesome death. my sobs don't stop and I struggle to see clearly from the tears.

Devlan's POV

I watch in utter horror as explosions blast around me and the creature. The creature's force field seems to be deflecting the force and most of the sounds of the explosions and fire, protecting us. I glance over to the creature to see that is seems to be struggling.

Devlan, the explosions won't last long, but so will the shield. Cover me.

I hear a single voice I. My head and I immediately grab the little body in my arms, squeezing it tightly so it's fully protected by my chest. At that moment, the shield disappears and I am blown into a wall. The numb pain floats around my head, and I black out.

Spock POV

The explosions for off after four and a half minutes, leaving the planet in debris and remaining fire, large enough to be seen from outer space.

Everyone one of the crew is silent, knowing that are job here is done. I clench my fists for the last time before walking over to the captain, who seems shocked, but only his eyes show it and he is trying his best to hide his feelings.

"Captain, we must report this to Starfleet immediately."

I whisper into his ear. That seems to wake Jim up and he shifts in his chair. As I thought that he was going to give orders to start heading back to headquarters, he stops all motion and doesn't move his gaze from the screen. I look over to see what caught his attention and my eyes widen in utter surprise.

The planet, which used to be a complete destruction when I last glances at it, was partly green. The green now spread towards the other part of the planet and I could see many vegetation sprouting from the ship.

Hello?

A small voice, barely able to be heard rings my head. I cock my head to the side slightly in confusion, and notice that the rest of the crew seems to be confused too.

Please, come get Devlan. She's alive.

The same voice rings in our for the last time until the voice fades away. Khan sprints towards the transport room, with Jim and Mr. Scott following close behind. The four of us our all silent and I see Uhura waving at me for the last time as we are beamed down to the planet.

Khan's POV

We are beamed down onto the place where we last saw Devlan. Moss cover the ground, and little of the metal floor is visable. Trees with tremendous roots spread all over, and almost everything of the technology is hidden with vegetation.

Over here.

The voice is more louder than on the ship and I run towards the sound. I see a large tree that has spread against a wall, with its roots tangling itself into a large ball.

She's in the roots.

The voice rings again in my head and I rip out the roots. The root are strong and heavy, but it's not long till I see a part of a face. Devalan'a face.

"Devlan!"

I shout out and rip out the last remaining roots from her face and her body. I pull her out quickly and bring her to my lap. I grab her face and massage it. She winces and slits open her eyes.

"Dad?"

She whispers out and I let out a sigh of relief. I hold her close to close to my chest and nuzzle into her neck, taking in her soft sense. I could feel her giggling into my own neck and I can't help but smile with her. She hugs me back tightly and bores herself into me, and I feel so relaxed than I ever have been.

Devlan's POV

I pry away Dad and giggle at his face. He looks so relieved at the sight of me, and I feel so happy to be alive. I stand up and pull Dad with me. I turn around to where Jim, Spock, and Scotty where standing, about five feet from us and wave.

Scotty was the first to notice and he came dashing towards me at full speed. He tackles into my welcoming arms and squeezes me tightly.

"You are one strong lass, ya know?"

He whispers as he continues on hugging me.

"Yup."

I whisper back and he stay hugging each other as we laugh. He finally let's go of me, and now Jim runs into me. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me close to his chest while holding me up into the air. We both laugh as he twirls me around and sets me down to my feet. I gaze at his eyes and give him a little smile, which he returns with a even bigger one. I turn my body slightly to see Spock, who arches an eyebrow at me, but gives me a smile. I smile back, but I realize something I have been ignoring.

"Where are the creatures?"

I ask the four. They all show signs of confusion and they seem to not know either. I look around my surroundings and walk into a bush to investigate.

As I search for them on the forest floor, I see a rock, but as I observe closely, I find out it is a skeleton. the same size and shape of the small white figures. I look around and see several others, and from them, vegetation sprouts lusciously form them. I turn my head side to side to see any more, but I see nothing, and sadness reeks my mind. Then, I hear a chant.

We are the enders and we are the beginners, you have fought well Devlan. Now it's time for farewell. Farewell my friend! Farewell!

"Farewell."

I whisper back and the light shine me through the gaps of the leaves.
