|♡ Megan's POV ♡|

I woke up to the smell of smoke, I could barely see anything but I could see red and orange outside my bedroom door, I could hear screaming, my parents scream but I couldn't hear what they were saying. I could smell smoke, so much smoke, my room was filled with it. I tried getting out of bed and was successful but I started having a hard time breathing due to the smoke.

"Get your sister!" I heard mom yell, then my door practically flew open with a loud bang and the room got brighter because of the flames that were spreading fast, my brother walked towards me but I couldn't see him all I could see of him was his curly hair. He's 9 and I'm 3 and he's so much taller than me, he puts me up on his shoulders sometimes and I play with his curly hair.

Just as he was about to reach me a piece of wood from the roof fell down in front of us, making me scream. He looked around frantically before looking at me, "Megan, you have to be brave for me okay? Try and come to me alright?" He said, I nodded and cautiously tried to get to him and thankfully I succeeded in my goal and reached him, he pulled me into his arms and held me tight before rushing out of the room, avoiding the fire as much as possible.

When we got downstairs I could see the figures of my parents by the back door, "Did you get Megan?" My dad called out worriedly, he probably didn't see me in my brothers arms.
"Yeah, I got her." My brother yelled back, before coughing a bunch because of the smoke. I also started coughing a bunch too and hid my face in his chest.

"Come on Meg, let's get you safe..." My brother whispered to me, holding me even closer to him as he got us safely out of our burning house. I couldn't see if my parents were safe and out of the house, I was too busy hiding my face and coughing.

Next thing I know my small, bare feet were set on the dirt outside our house, I looked up at my brother who stayed a couple feet away from me in front of the door to our burning house.
"Take this, I was going to give it you tomorrow, now run Meg, run." He told me handing me a stuffed animal, which I held closely but didn't look at it that much, I shook my head, crying, I was very attached to my brother and wouldn't leave him.
"Not without you." My tiny voice called out.
His eyes softened and he looked close to tears as he said, "You have to go Meg, I promise I'll see you soon." After that I ran, never looking back not until I reached the firefighter and by that time I could no longer see my brother in front of our house.

I woke up in tears and I was tempted to scream but I held it in, I was plagued by that nightmare every night since that night.

"Megan! Shae! Get down here there's people here!" The orphanage caretaker yelled for me and my best friend, Shae, I winced at her loud voice but still got up, wiping the tears as best as I could.

|♡ Shae's POV ♡|

I had just finished up getting ready for bed when it got really hot and hard to see when I heard yelling coming from downstairs a got up to run down stair then I saw it the flames there where so big and I can't find anyone. I started to get worried and scared when one of the support beams fell right beside me I screamed and tried to run but I was grabbed from behind and then over someone's shoulder. I started to struggle not knowing who grabbed me

"Come down Shae it just me"

I calmed down recognizing my brother's voice. Even though he is only 1 and a few months older than me he is still so much taller than me I am 5 and he is 6. I started to have a coughing fit and was brought from his shoulder to being carried bridal style. we got outside and we could hear yelling inside

"What's going on where mom and dad"

I asked as I was put on to the cold wet ground

"Its okay Shae I will be right back just stay here"

"NO, I am not leaving you." I protested

"Shae I love you and I always will but please listen to me and take this and run "

he said as he slipped a pair of dog tags around my neck.

He turned around and ran I tried to ran after him but was stopped by this big man in yellow

"let me go, go get my family" I scream cry "put me down"

I started to have a coughing fit again and now I can't even see him.

That's it that when always wake up I don't remember what happens after that it has been 11 years and I have and this dream every night and never find out or remember what happens.

I woke up again in tears and run downstairs to get a drink to try and calm myself down as I was walking back upstairs I saw I group of 5 walks in. So I ran upstairs fast.

As I was in mid-thought while putting on my dog tags I don't go a day without putting them and hoping someday I will see him again and hold him tight and never let go but I was brought out of thought. I was so close to my brother now I don't even remember his name or what he looks like.

"Megan! Shae! Get down here there are people here!" The orphanage caretaker yelled for me and my best friend

I noticed I was crying again when I was started by Megan behind me. I don't know what I would without her is has been my rock since she got here. I don't believe in fate but what are the odds we both have the same thing happen to us not once but twice then ended up in la together and we have the same dream every night.

as a looked at Megan I realized both our eyes were bloodshot from crying again
