Fix What's Broken (Fable 3 Reaver)

Confronting Him

(I shouldn't be laughing at that image as much as I am. He just looks so done with everything.)

The handle turned and the door opened to reveal a person dressed in a servants outfit, "Ah your majesty what brings you to Reaver's mansion today?" He asked me, "Is Reaver here?" I asked and he shook his head, "No he went off to go do something but he should be back any moment now if you would like to wait for him." He said and I nodded.

He opened the door wider so I could come inside before leading me over to a couch, "As I said he should back any time now." He stated before walking away.

I sat there for a while trying to figure out what to say to him. I didn't even know where to begin or if he would even answer me let alone acknowledge my existence. Before I could think of anything the doors opened again and the man in question came sauntering in. He likely hadn't seen me yet since the couch was slightly obstructed from his view along with me.

"Reaver." I said as I stood up from where I was sitting on the couch causing him to jump in surprise, "What are you doing here?" He asked me, "I think you know exactly what I'm doing here Reaver." I said as I strolled over to where he was standing, stopping a couple feet away, "If I knew I wouldn't have asked." He said while avoiding eye contact with me.

"Why did you tell them?" I asked as I crossed my arms, "What are you talking about?" He asked, "Why did you tell people I'm a siren?" I questioned and he still refused to look at me, "I didn't mean to." He muttered.

"Like hell you didn't mean to! You said you had some business shit that you needed to do and the next thing I know I'm walking through the city getting glares and having people throwing shit at me as I passed!" I told him and he looked up, "Who was throwing things at you?" He asked angrily, "Practically everyone!" I exclaimed, "I'm over here wondering why people suddenly hate me only to find out from Walter that it's because you went to a pub and told everybody you could!" I yelled, "I was drunk! I didn't mean to tell anybody!" He exclaimed.

"Bullshit! If you didn't mean to tell anyone then why did you lie about where you were going!?" I asked him angrily, "I don't know alright?! I don't know why I lied! I just did it out of habit!" He said.

"What else have you lied about Reaver? What else have you done behind my back?" I asked, quieter this time. We both stared at each other for a long time, "Nothing." He said, "And how am I supposed to believe you?" I asked him, "I thought you cared about me and then you went and did this to me? I was actually starting to like you." I said, mumbling the last part but I knew he still heard me. It to quiet for him to not hear me.

He muttered something under his breath but I barely heard him, "What?" I asked him, "I do care about you." He said louder this time, "But that's exactly the problem." He added bitterly and started to walk away, "Why is that a problem? Is it wrong to care about somebody for once?" I questioned and he stopped, "Because this is me we're talking about." He stated, "I don't care about people but for some reason I care about you. I don't give a damn about anybody or what happens to them but it's like the second you show up something inside me flips and I hate it!" He said bitterly, "What's wrong with caring about someone Reaver?!" I asked, practically begging him to answer.

"Because I can't afford to care about you!" He yelled as he quickly walked over and grasped my shoulders, "If people know I care about you word will spread-" He said but I cut him off, "Why do you care?!" I pried, "Let me finish!" He exclaimed, "Word will spread and it will reach the shadow court eventually. They will take you away." He said, "They'll take you away from everyone. Walter, Paige, Adelaide. Everyone." He said, "Including me." He said quietly, still holding onto my shoulders, "They'd take you away and I wouldn't be able to stop them." He said, his voice shaking.
