Chapter 13:
I jerked awake as someone knocked on the door. I groaned in response, as I knew who was knocking; he always knocked the same way every time. I had no idea what time it was, and I was still half asleep, so it didn't really register as the door opened a bit.
"Wow, ok. What's been going on here?" CC said in between laughs as he stood in the doorway and surveyed the area around my bed.
I just grunted in response and buried my face in the pillow, too tired to really answer him properly. Juliet was more awake than I was right now, but she was cuddled up to me and I had my arm over her.
"Sorry Andy," CC said, still trying to hold back the amused laughing. "Didn't mean to wake you up after...a late night."
I just flipped him off, trying to wake up a bit more. I knew why he'd said that. My shirt was on the floor, Juliet's shirt, trousers and bra there too.
CC just laughed and I turned my head to the side, looking at him tiredly.
"Whatcha doin' here at this time?" I asked, still not fully awake. "Who the fuck let you in?"
CC smiled at me and walked over, sitting on the edge of the bed and looking at me as I looked back at him, the tiredness clear on my face.
"Tara let me in," he said. "And anyway, it's nearly eleven."
I sighed and turned over to lay on my back.
"She said she wasn't gonna be home," I said as I rubbed my eyes tiredly.
CC shrugged and looked around casually as I sat up and looked at him.
"She was here when I rocked up about less than five minutes ago," he said with a bit of a shrug. He looked to me. "Wann'ed to come over and see how you're doing."
I looked at Juliet who just looked at me briefly before closing her eyes again, clearly still tired. I looked back to CC.
"Alright then," I said. "I'll meetcha out in the kitchen in a sec. Just gotta wake up a bit more."
CC smiled in amusement and nodded, getting up from the edge of the bed and heading back over to the door. He disappeared around the corner and out of sight.
"You gonna stay here for a while?" I asked Juliet quietly, pushing a bit of hair off her face as I looked at her.
She opened her eyes and looked at me tiredly.
"Seems like it," she responded, closing her eyes again.
"Alright. I'll be around somewhere if you need me," I said back.
I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before getting out of bed, going over her so I could get out. I grabbed my shirt from where it was and closed the door as I went out, heading down the hallway to the kitchen. CC looked up as he saw me as I put my shirt on and sat down opposite him at the table.
"Sorry man," he said as I rubbed my eyes tiredly again. "Didn't mean to wake you guys up."
I just waved it off.
"How come Tara letcha in?" I asked. "She said she wasn't gonna be home."
CC shrugged. "Who knows? She was here when I got here, so I think she's in her room at the moment."
I just nodded, trying to wake up and stop feeling so tired.
"So how're you doing?" he asked. "Haven't seen you in a while. Y'know when you'll be back at school?"
I shrugged.
"I dunno," I said. "It's Sunday, right?"
CC nodded. "Mmhm. You saw us on Friday."
