Chapter 11:

Matt's Point of View:

The cop unlocked the cell and practically threw me in, making sure he locked the door quickly so I couldn't get out.

"Great," I muttered to myself as I leant against the bars and watched as the cop disappeared out of sight.

I sighed.

"Well, well. What's this?"

I froze as I heard someone else in the cell speak. It was kinda dark in this area, and I think the cop did that on purpose, just to prove a point or something. To make matters worse, I knew exactly who that voice belonged to. I'd heard it many times over the years, and it sent a shiver down my spine as I heard it for the first time in at least over a month.

I looked over my shoulder, dreading who I knew was there. I heard him laugh, but still couldn't see where he was. By the sounds of it, he was over in the corner off to my left.

"What've you done this time Sanders? Gotten yourself into a bit of trouble with the law have we?"

"Probably nowhere near as much trouble as you Eddie," I said back with a glare as Eddie made his presence known by moving out of the dark corner and into the slight bit of light. "Shouldn't you be locked away with all the other murderers and thieves?"

He smirked at me, putting his hands in his pockets and strolling casually over to the other side of the cell. I made sure I watched him the whole time, as I didn't doubt he'd try and bash me now that we were in the same area once more.

Eddie looked into the cell that was next to us as I watched him carefully in case he tried something.

"You'd think so, hey?" he said with a laugh, still not making eye contact with me. "Ask the cops about that. Dunno anything."

"You can say that again," I muttered to myself.

Out of everyone I could've ended up in a cell with, it had to be this guy. He'd tried to kill me for God's sake, and now here I was, stuck with him in a small cell that could very well be the end of me.

I sighed again, and Eddie smiled in amusement.

"So whatcha doing in here then Sanders?" he asked smugly, leaning against the bars and crossing his arms.

"What's it to you?" I asked stubbornly, not moving from where I was standing, as I didn't wanna risk letting my guard down in any way.

Eddie laughed again and shrugged.

"Just wondering," he said casually. "Honestly didn't think I'd ever see you again. Thought you would've died on the way to the hospital if I'm honest."

"I almost did," I shot back bitterly, really wishing I was in another cell right now. "I was lucky to make it there at all."

Eddie laughed, clearly amused that he'd almost killed me. He shook his head, the amusement still there.

"Damn; clearly didn't do what I planned on doing then," he said.

"Why'd you wanna kill me Eddie?" I asked, as I was actually curious as to what was going through his head that day at the end of term.

Eddie just shrugged, clearly not fazed at all that he'd tried to kill a human being.

"I just really hate you and I'm just sick of your shit," he replied. "Everyone has their breaking points."

"Well you're clearly not all there if you think killing someone is a reasonable thing to do, even if you snap and reach your 'breaking point'," I shot back.
