PICTURE OF RAIN ON THE SIDE

Rain, I don't think your ready for the truth. Maybe wait a few more years." Momma says, but I was more ready than anything. Overall I deserved the truth about my father. I'm officially a teenager now and I've been waiting to ask this question.

"Momma yes I am ready I just wanna know about my father. . .That's all!" I say looking down, I don't even know why momma was being so hesitant about it - it's really not much of a big deal, I mean it might be but at the same time it's not.

"Okay Rain just promise me when I tell you this, you'll let it go." She gives me the 'don't test me' look. If this were something really really big then 9 time out of 10 I wouldn't, in fact I'd try and get to the bottom of it.

"Can't do that. ." She rolls her eyes as she begins to speak, the tears were already forming in here eyes. Damn.

"Rain when me and your father first met he was so mysterious, I guess that's what drew him to me. We fell in love and had you - we were only 14/15 we didn't know a damn thing about love. Then I got pregnant and he freaked out. .We broke up for a few months he then came back to me. We got back together. When I had you he started abusing me physically, and mentally. He s-shook you."

"I left him when you were two I had grandma watch you until I had my stuff together only because me and your father broke up and I was on the edge of being poor. Then Monte came we're where we are now, I guess." That was some jaw dropping news.

So my daddy didn't want me? And he hit my mama? Sounds like another Monte if you asked me.

I just hope this answers all of my questions.
