Disobeying.

"Hey CJ" I spoke happily into the phone. Me and CJ was talking everyday ever since I gave him my number.

"Wassup good lookin?" I smiled rolling my eyes, crossing my legs. It was obvious that he liked me and I like him too, but I know I'm too young. What 13 year old need a boyfriend?

"You know you stay corny with your jokes." I teased.

"Pleaseee, the girls love it! And you love it too" He was indeed right, I adored his corny jokes.

"Whateva. I'm soo bored, I swear" I complained turning the fan off.

"Aye I'm running down the the carnival you wanna come thru?"

I thought about it, I am 13 a teenager I didn't think momma would mind me going with a BOY, but it was worth a shot.

"Yea Lemme make sure I ain't got no plans & I'll call you back"

"K"

"Bye" I said as I got ready to hang up with my finger already on the red button.

"Bye good looking" I laughed into the phone as I hung up.

I got up and walked into the kitchen where momma and Monte was arguing, over the course of weeks all they did was fight. Monte even gave momma another black eye, but it wasn't my concern anymore. momma never appreciated me or my help. I've been trying to get her to leave, but she won't budge. oh well.

"Ma can I go to the carnival with my friend?" I asked interrupting. Monte shot me a mean look & I gave him one right back.

"What friend?" she asked putting her cigarette down.

"CJ" I reply the room got hotter because of the smoke, Monte must have felt it too because he opened a window.

"A boy?" Naw, Beyonce!

"Yea"

"No" she replied putting the cigarette back in her mouth blowing the smoke in my face. I can't stand her man, I swear.

"But Ma-"

She cut me off. "But nothin' my final answer is NO Rain, come on now get outta my face"

I rolled my eyes before walking out and stomping upstairs to my room. 1,000 random thoughts filled my head. I hate her! I never get freedom! ever!

Why can't I be like the other teenagers who get to go out and socialize?

I called CJ back, "Yea CJ, I'm coming"
