A Little Dissension

Walking the stalls of the Mortal Realm, Bai Qian paid little attention to the stares she was receiving.  Mo Yuan had insisted that she wear her male clothing, however that day, she decided she didn't want to.  She was more than capable of taking good care of herself, she instead wore a simple Mortal Realm dress.  It was plain with very little colour and though she refused to wear the male robes, she did agree to wearing her hair up in a loose messy bun because to Mo Yuans eyes, she looked far too ravishing with her hair down.

"You are far too beautiful, you'll drive them mad with lust." Mo Yuan had said and though his tone was teasing, he was serious.  She really had no idea just how lovely she was, and the jealous looks she was getting from the other women and leering glances from the men, had Mo Yuan closing the gap and taking hold of her hand.

Even with a simple Mortal Realm gown and hair up, she looked beautiful, in fact, to Mo Yuans eyes, she could be covered in mud and he would still think she was beautiful.

But unknown to him, because he was too focused on the looks she was getting, he too was receiving lustful looks from many of the females they passed and for a brief moment, she almost slapped one woman who had dared to purposefully move closer so she could brush against his arm.  A jealousy she had never known suddenly flared and it took her a few minutes to realize why and then to acknowledge it.

A little stunned by it, but also secretly pleased that he was with her and not them, her head went back a little more as a mix of pride and spitefulness began to fill her.  He might think she was oblivious to the looks she was getting, but she was very much aware of how beautiful he was too and the jealous stares from the females only increased a sudden desire to latch onto him least he get away.

Smiling at him, they made their way through the stalls towards the fresh produce which was situated at the end of the market place.

"Why don't I cook dinner for us tonight." he suggested as he picked up a few carrots and swede.

"You?  Can you cook?  I'm a very fussy eater Physician, if it doesn't look good, I won't eat it." she said plainly as he added a cabbage to his growing pile.

"I've dabbled a little." he replied with a smirk as ginger, garlic and pepper tree stalks were added.

Watching what he added, her mind mentally began to combine the flavours and so far, what he was adding wasn't looking all that promising, because he not only added nutmeg which had a very strong flavour but also cinnamon which did not blend with anything else he had.

But keeping an open mind, she said nothing as he then led them to watch a live display of different weaponry which one man and a woman were giving demonstrations on a figure made from fruit which was fast being demolished as swords, knives, spears and whips flew past them.

From what Bai Qian could see, the weapons were all ones she had knowledge of and even knew how to use proficiently, and so did they.  Watching the girl closely, she picked up a couple of mistakes but overall her use of the sword in particular was almost on a par with herself.  Stepping back as the girl spun passed with her sword flying in all directions, her breath caught as her gaze met with the girls.  For a second or two, it held, but the sudden flare of something in the girls eyes, had her moving back a little more.

Suddenly the girl took up another sword and still in full flight across the wide stretch of pavement they were utilizing, her skills increased as both swords flashed lightening fast in all directions.

Mesmerized by her skill, Bai Qian eyes remained glued to the girls feet and hands while Mo Yuan kept his eyes on the male who was also just as impressive as the girl.  But the more the man glanced back at Bai Qian, having caught his eye, the more dangerous the girls movements became.  He could see the jealousy in her eyes as she too stole quick glances at the male and then back at Bai Qian who he noticed, was not aware of what was happening.  In fact he doubted anyone else there was, because they were moving so fast, it was only because of his keen dragon sight that he was able to keep up with both of them.
