Chapter 17 The Best Day Of My Life

Chloe's POV

I woke up today, and the first person I saw was Zack, which made me pretty happy. I guess I had a seizure, and it was so serious that I woke up from it. I haven't seen him in so long, I was so happy. "Zack..." I said. He looked so surprised to see me awake. He started crying and literally flung himself at me.

"Oh God. Chloe!" he screamed. He hugged me. I hugged him back as tight as I could. He was sobbing with joy on me. I started crying too, and he played beside me. I turned over and stared into his eyes.

"I...I..." he said.

"I just got out of a fucking coma. Will you kiss me already?" He smiled and I kissed him. When we pulled apart, he stroked my face. I nestled myself into his chest, and I think I feel asleep. When I woke up, the whole room was crowded. Zack was sitting right beside me and my mom and dad, Zeke, and all my friends were sitting in the room.

"Whoa, personal space people!" was the first thing I said. They all laughed and my parents hugged and kissed me first. Then all my friends, Jamie was first of coarse, she started crying really hard. With joy of coarse. She wouldn't let go, I had to force her off of me! She laughed and went to the side. Then Zeke came. I looked at him with a happy look in my eyes. Everybody else but Zack left the room, of coarse he wouldn't leave me alone. Zeke sat down beside me and Zack sat on his cot. He took my hand.

"I was so scared for you." he said, tears filling his eyes.

"Don't cry you big baby. You know I'm strong!"

He chuckled,"You really are." He hugged me and left the room. Zack came over to me. He stood at the foot of my bed, then he started smerking at me.

"What? Do I have something in my teeth?"

"No. You just haven't been tickled in so long..."

"Don't even try!"

"Ha ha! Watch me!" He took the blanket off my feet and started tickling them.

"Stop! I can't take this!" I pretended to pass out.

"Oh God! What have I done!" He ran to my side and I jumped up.

"TICKLE FIGHT IS ON!" I tickled him stomach and he fell over laughing. I was laughing too. He stood up and just stared at me.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Because I think you are the most beautiful person I've ever seen in my life." I smiled at him. And he sat on my bed beside me. I leaned my head on his shoulder.

"You know how long its been since I walked?"

"Wanna try?"

"Yes." He sat up and took my hands. I swung my feet over the side of my bed and stood up. I was a little wobbly at first, but I got the hang of it.

"You don't need to hold me. I'm strong." He smiled at me and backed up. I walked across the room, then went into the hall.

"They have food here right?"

"Of coarse. I will take you to the cafeteria." He took my hand and we started walking there, then i realized these hospital gowns show parts of me that I don't want people to see.

"Oh hey, can we go get me some actual clothes before I go walking around? This gown is kind of...revealing."

"Sure." he chuckled. "Your parents brought some clothes along for when you woke up." We went back to the room and I decided to shower first, then get changed. It was quick because I was so hungry. I can out in yoga pants, and a comfy jacket.

"Ready?" he said.

"Yep. Let's go!" I ordered a lot of food and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. Zack was staring at me while I asked for all the food. I got pancakes, waffles, some toast, orange juice, hash browns, sausage, and bacon. Like I said, I'm very hungry. I ate all of it. Zack had already eaten but he kept trying to take some of my bacon. I slapped his hand when he tried to take a piece. He frowned at me and pouted. I finally gave in and let him have one piece. He screeched like s little girl and shoved it in his mouth. I laughed really hard.

"Your ridiculous, you know that?"

"In a good way, right?"

"Of coarse." I said kissing his cheek. He smiled really funny and proceeded to eating his bacon. I finished and we decided to go out in front of the hospital. I walked barefoot in the grass. It felt nice between my toes. I lay down on the grass, looking at the clouds. Zack lay down beside me, and i put his hand in mine. I could tell he was smiling. I scooted closer to him.

"I love you." he said.

"I love you more!" I played.

"You wish." I laughed and looked over. Zeke was sitting on a bench, staring at us. I frowned at him and he suddenly looked sad. He walked away and went back inside. I looked back at Zack, who was watching Zeke walk back inside.

"That was weird." I said, confused.

"I better keep a closer eye on him" he said.

"Relax. He's probably still just shaken up about everything."

"I'm still gonna keep an eye out." I kissed his cheek once again. He got up and there were some kids that looked like they had some kind of cancer that came up to us, so I also stood up.

"Hi!" one of the girls said.

"Hello." we both said. I smiled and so did Zack.

"We couldn't help but notice you two being all cute." the other girls giggled.

"Oh. Well I'm Chloe and this is Zack."

"I'm Machaela. These are my cancer friends, Hailey, and Emily."

"Nice to meet you!" they both said.

"Same to you." Zack said.

"So what's up?" I asked.

"We were just wondering what it's like."

"Huh?"

"What it's like to be in love. We won't live long enough to know so we were just wondering." Machaela and her friends looked to be around thirteen.

"Well, I'm not really sure how to explain it. Its like a never ending roller coaster, the kind that you never want to get off because its so fun. When I'm with Zack, I feel like I'm in heaven. If its true love, that's how it will feel."

"Wow. That sounds amazing!"

"You girls will find true love." They looked at me all confuses like. "Because, you are all going to fight. You will fight that cancer like hell, I know you are all strong enough. I just came out of a coma, if I can fight through that, you girls will beat this bitch they call cancer." They all smiled at me and hugged me.

"Thanks Chloe."

"Your very welcome."
