6-Knight In Shining Leather
Elena's head was throbbing. This was the worst migraine of her life. The constant thumping had her hands reaching for her head trying to put pressure on it as though it would help. She didn't want to open her eyes for fear of any kind of light making it worse.
Why does it hurt so bad? She thought to herself as she curled into a ball underneath her warm, heavy blankets, the sound of leather rubbing leather in her ears. Wait...these blankets didn't smell like hers. She didn't own anything leather. Why? In that moment everything came flashing back in an instant. Her brother attacking her. He'd ripped her shirt open and was going to rape her...he'd slammed her head into the ground. The sound of shattering glass, then this smell of worn leather. Then....nothing.
Panicking, she shot up in the bed she lay in, the sharp pain throbbing even more now. She winced as her panic grew. She didn't recognize this room. The cream colored walls were in much better condition than her house. The dresser, two seat couch in the corner, and large flat screen TV was too expensive to be in her house. What happened?
The sound of the mahogany door opening to the strange bedroom caught her attention and in her panic she flew to the window to escape. She was on the second floor it seemed, with a large oak tree close enough to jump to right outside. The sun made her head pound harder but she couldn't think about that right now.
"El-what the hell?!" she didn't look back, only jumped, hoping she'd reach the tree limb. But she didn't. She didn't even make it outside of the damn window. Terror gripped her as she felt strong arms around her waist. She cried out, kicking and punching at the vice like grip around her.
"N-no please stop. No!" she cried out, hyperventilating in the process.
She was released then, landing on the couch in the corner. She crawled backwards, away from the person to the very edge of the cushions.
"Elena. Hey, Elena, it's me, calm down you're safe." She her in her panic. Looking up she found a familiar face, though it wasn't any less terrifying.
"R-Rysen? Rysen Santigo? W-what is going on? What happened? A-am I going to die? W-what happened to me?" her breathing was short and rapid now, unable to gain enough air to satisfy her lungs. She could feel a black out coming.
Suddenly she felt warm hands cupping her cheeks and was forced to look into Rysen's pale green eyes. He knelt on the floor in front of her, his expression soft, completely unlike the Rysen she'd seen in school.
"Easy there. Shhh." He whispered, petting her hair back. Without breaking their eye contact, Rysen kept muttering soothing words, petting the small girl head gently. It seemed to work as her breathing returned back to normal within a few minutes.
"W-what happened?" she asked after a few moments of silence. Rysen recognized the harsh rasp to her voice. Worse than the afternoon yesterday when they'd first met. It was afternoon on Saturday now, Elena having slept well after the doctor examined her. She had a pretty nasty bump on the back of her head and the doctor had given them a bottle of prescription ibuprofen to help when she inevitably woke up with a migraine. Whether she had one or not though that didn't stop her from trying to jump out of a second story window to escape. Rysen had to admit, he was impressed with her willpower.
However, now, as he stood here in front of her small, curled up form, he felt the need to go back to that damned house and finish putting a bullet through that mans skull. She was absolutely terrified because of what he'd done to her. The twisted fuck.
"Rysen, what happened? D-did he..." she trailed off and they both knew what she was asking. He shook his head.
"He didn't get the chance to. And he won't. Ever again." Rysen said matter of factly.
