7-Dinner

"Here are the files you requested Master Santigo." The butler said, handing Rysen a plain manila envelope that held the information he'd asked for.

"Thank you, Gideon." Rysen nodded at the older gentleman who'd been with his family since he was born. Gideon bowed then excused himself, closing the door to the study where Rysen sat. His father had gone out to handle business with an ally gang. Knowing that no one would bother him while he was here he opened the envelop and retrieved the papers from inside.

The first thing that Rysen could see was a photograph of a young Elena, maybe seven years old with a neutral expression on her face as she stood in front of an orphanage, her long hair in a tight bun, face dirty. Confused, he set it aside and went to the next piece of paper, adoption paperwork. That's when he realized it.

"Family? Don't make me laugh..."

Rysen went to the other papers. Pictures of an accident, printed copies of a story showing two adults having died when a truck had run a red light and t-boned their car, nearly splitting it in half. The young girl in the back seat had survived but only by chance as she had multiple bones in her small body broken, and surgery in her brain due to swelling. The last paper was the legal guardian will stating that a Jackson Rebell would be responsible for his newly adopted sister. In order to do so he'd taken a basic office job, dropping out of college.

"...the bitch is the reason my life is ruined."

Rysen felt his hand tighten into a fist as he thought about what this Jackson had done to Elena. It didn't matter whether or not they were related or not. She was his little sister and he was going to rape her. He'd been abusing her for years and she'd taken it. Rysen couldn't understand what made her take so much for such a worthless person. All he knew was that this little woman was strong, inside and out, to have handled so much.

Elena got out of the long shower, her body still shaking even after her mind processed everything going on. Within the last twenty-four hours she went from putting herself in front of Rysen with the knowledge of his status before running off with her tail between her legs and avoiding him the best she could, to running away from Jackson who attacked her. Then waking up to find she was somehow now living in the Santigo house with the identity of Rysen's girlfriend. On top of that, they were going to be sharing a bedroom?

There was so much she didn't understand still. Why did he follow her? What made him help her so much? Did he have some other motive he didn't disclose? Why was his father so nice? Why did she feel more comfortable around his father than him?

So many questions, with little to no answers. Elena sighed as she finished dressing and began French braiding her long wet hair back. The sound of knocking on the bedroom door had Elena walking out of the adjoined bathroom as she tied up the ends of her twin French braids. Opening the door cautiously Elena jumped back when she found an extremely large man standing at the stood. He had dark skin, flawless of any form of scars or sun spots. He wore a black suit his head completely bald, eyes dark, almost black, brown. He was at least six-foot-five, with muscles bulging in the suit jacket he wore.

One hit and he'd kill me. Elena thought to herself as she quickly ran across the room from him. He raised a brow at her when she turned back to him while she stood on the other side of the bed away from them.

"C-can I help you?" she asked from her position by the bed.

"The Misses has asked me to come get you for dinner. Come." He motioned for her to follow she didn't. He sighed as he stepped into the room, his imposing aura frightening her. He reminded her of Jackson with a similar build and tone of voice.
