Prom night

It was a special night for everyone, it was gonna be Lance's first prom. Well, it's gonna be a lot of people's first prom, but Lance was the most excited. He never went to prom, he had no friends to go with. But this year was different, he had a boyfriend and a group of friends. So naturally when Keith asked him to go, he smiled and nodded.

But, it was a little stressful when Lance had to figure out what to wear. He didn't know a lot about proms, he never went to one after all. Blake was no help, Justin gave him some suits that might fit him, Lana was with Pidge, and he didn't want to bother the rest of the group.

Keith was just the same, but he had Shiro to help him. But he was still freaking out, this would be their first prom together. He didn't wanna mess up Lance's first ever prom. Keith wanted this to be the most magical and memorable night for Lance. They decided that their outfits would be a absolute surprise for each other, the other hint they had was they had to wear red or blue. For what Pidge would say "opposites attract."

When the time pulled around, Shiro decided he would pick everyone up and they'll go together. The gang was already in the car with Shiro driving. The last stop was Lance, but Keith was sweating, he was nervous and didn't know why. Keith knocked on the door, Blake opened the door and smiled.

"Hey, Lance is almost ready. He wanted to look perfect, it's his first prom after all." She admitted, he walked up the stair a moment later. Keith heard voices from upstairs and immediately knew it was Lance's. Keith didn't know what they were saying, but knew there was something wrong.

"Is everything okay up there?" Keith shouted from downstairs, he heard a bang from upstairs then shushes.

"Oh yeah! Everything's okay, be down in a second!" Lance voiced echoed through the house. Keith waited for a while, he check his phone. He saw a couple messages from Shiro asking if everything was okay. Keith immediately replied saying everything was fine. When Keith looked up, Lance was at the top of the stairs, looking down.

Keith gasp and looked at Lance, he wore a black well fitted tux with a blue tie. His hair was cut a little shorter and was styled, he had black shoes and had some blue highlights on his cheeks.

"You look stunning." Keith finally spoke after looking at Lance, he giggled and walked down the stairs.

"You don't look too bad yourself mister." Lance winked, Keith blushed and smiled. Keith was wearing the same exact thing, but with a red tie. Amusement shown through Lance's eyes when he noticed.

"Oh my gosh, you two look too cute! I want pictures before you leave!" Blake called out, Lance grunted and Keith smiled kissing Lance on the cheek. After a couple of pictures and a bawling Blake, the two boys walked out the house holding hands. Pidge rolled down the window and whistled.

"Hey gay- I mean guys. Who's ready to have the time of their lives!" Pidge laughed, hunk shook his head and opened the door for the two.

"Glad you could make it Lance, you look handsome." Allura smiled, Lance smiled and sat next to Keith in the back of the car. Pidge turned on the radio and blasted music, the car was filled with deadly loud music and a group filled of singing teenagers. Once they got there, the school was lit up and people were walking in, Shiro parked the car and everyone gathered out.

"Alright, be safe, don't drink the punch, and have some fun." Shiro smiled, Allura pulled Shiro inside the school and everyone walked behind them.

Pidge and Lana were smiling, Matt smirked and 'accidentally' bumped into the two causing Lana to fall onto Pidge, her face burned red and Lana laughed. Pidge quickly collected herself as she tried to calm her burning face.

Keith held onto Lance and made their way to the gym. It was lit up and music was blasting, Lance pulled Keith to the dance floor and started dancing. Lance was laughing and Keith couldn't stop looking at Lance. A fast song came out and Lance fell back against Keith. Keith grabbed Lance's hips and started moving against him. Lance smirked and pushed back against Keith more causing Keith the grunt.

"If you don't stop that now, you'll regret it later love." Keith whispered in Lance's ear causing Lance to yelp when Keith bit Lance's ear.

After a couple minutes of dancing, a slow song came on. Lance blushed as Keith wrapped his arms around Lance's waist and Lance wrapped his arms around Keith's neck.

"You having fun baby?" Keith asked, Lance nodded and smiled.

"Of course, this has been the best night of my life so far." Lance smiled. Lance leaned his head on Keith's shoulders.

"Keith?"

"Yes my love?"

"I love you Keith."

Keith looked at Lance's and smiled, he leaned in and kissed Lance's on his lips. Lance kissed back and smiled into the kiss.

"I love you too Lance, forever and always my love." Keith pecked Lance's lips a couple times, Lance laughed and hid his face in Keith's neck.

When the song ended, Lance and Keith made their way off the dance floor. They found the rest of the group off to the side.

"Hey guys!" Lance smiled, the group turned to Lance's voice smiling over at the energetic boy.

"Hey Lance and Keith. How's you guys night so far?" Lana asked.

"It was amazing!" Lance smiled, Keith pulled Lance into his side, wrapping a arm around Lance's waist.

"Do you guys know who's gonna be prom queen and king?" Pidge asked, everyone looked at each other and smirked.

"I might have a guess who it might be exactly." Allura smirked, Keith raised a brow and looked at Shiro, he shrugged and looked back at Allura.

"They should be calling it soon! I can't wait!" Lana smiled, everyone nodded and smiled.

"Don't the winners have to dance in front of everyone?" Lance asked, Allura nodded her head and smiled.

"Yes, it's called the moonlight dance. They shut off all the lights except the one with the disco ball, the ball creates a moonlight effect as the winners dance below it." Hunk explained, Lance smiled. He secretly wished he was the winner, he always wanted to be prom king.

"Attention everyone! It's time to announce the winners of prom king and queen!" A student said, she held a paper that was folded in half. Everyone looked at the girl, she smiled and opened the paper, her eyes widened as she smiled.

"Oh! I guess this is a change! We have two Kings tonight. Everyone give it up for Keith Kogane and Lance McClain!" Everyone clapped as the two were stunned.

"Go guys!" Shiro laughed, Lance grabbed Keith's hand and led him to the stage to get their crowns and sashes. They made their way to the front of the dance floor and smiled. Music started playing, the two boys smiled lovingly at each other. Everything was in slow motion, it seemed like it was the only two in the world. Keith leaned in to give Lance a kiss, but heard shouting, Keith looked over to the group and say them screaming something. As soon as he looked over, was being pushed out of the way. A gun was heard and Keith was pushed, he looked at the ground and Lance holding his stomach.

Keith looked at Lance, tears shot through Keith's eyes as he ran to Lance hoping this was all a dream. This wasn't happening, it was a nightmare.
