Muted Treasure

To Past the time.

Lance didn't know why he couldn't get the mullet out of his head. The boy was scared of him. Whenever the mullets near him, he made him nervous, like he couldn't breathe. His eyes, made him melt. He felt himself diving off into an endless stream, his violet eyes made him go into a trance. Deeper and deeper Lance seemed to be dragged into his eyes.

"Lance."

He looked up to see Lana looking up at him with a irritated look. She looked funny, she's only about 5'0 with long hair going down to her waist.

"Where do you wanna go?" She asked and he shrugged, not knowing where to go anymore.

"Do you wanna go to library like you said?" She asked. Lance looked around a bit and only nodded, he did want some books to keep him entertained.

"Well follow me then!" Lana said smiling, he nodded and walked beside her.

"Do they have good books?" He signed, Lana looked up at him and shrugged.

"They have a few of pretty good books in my opinion." Lana said, he nodded and they continued to walk in silence.

"What's wrong?" She asked looking at Lance which confused him.

"Well you did seem conflicted back there. What were you thinking about?" She asked and he panicked a little.

"Um nothing. I was thinking about books." He lied. Lance didn't wanna lie, but he felt like he had to. He felt like she'd get angry, he was falling for a person that's mean to him.

"I can tell when people are lying. It's a sixth sense." Lana laughed, Lance looked at her weird and shook his head. Continuing to walk down the hall with her.

"Well if you don't wanna tell me it's fine. I understand." She said and he nodded, but kept quiet.

They walked together to what seemed like years, but they came up to a door and she pushed it open. When Lance looked in he saw lots books. Lance couldn't help but feel excited when he saw the rows.

"It might not look much but it's a pretty huge library." Lana said laughing, Lance shook his head and smiled.

"It's perfect" Lance signed and smiled, she looked at him and laughed. He smiled, his eyes roaming everywhere. He couldn't stop looking around, it's probably bigger than his old school.

"Let's find a place to sit. We can't just stand here and stare." Lana giggling and he nodded. The duo started walking inside and they sat at a table near the back of the library. He could tell not many people noticed this table, since it has a little dust on it. But in all, it was a pretty comfortable spot to not get bothered or noticed.

"Can I ask you a question? You don't have to answer it if you don't want to." She asked and Lance nodded hesitantly.

"Do-do you like anyone." She asked and he shrugged, Lance looked at her weirdly.

"I-i mean, it's your first day here, but have you found one you admire?" She asked and he thought about it for a second. He just shook his head no.

"I see. Well I'm glad." She said smiling, he hummed and looked at her.

"How so?" Lance asked, she looked at the books ahead of her before sighing.

"Well, I had a feeling you liked Keith." She said and his eyes went wide. He started laughing, but he don't know why. He started holding his stomach that's how bad he was laughing. Lana looked at him like he officially lost it.

"What's so funny?" She asked, Lance got himself together before coming up with an answer.

"I just found it funny. Why would I like a jerk like him. Man that mullet." He signed while wiping his tears away.

"That's good. I wanted to kill him when he started talking to you like that. I mean who would do that to a person they don't even know?!" She started ranting, and he nodded understanding. Lance was going to reply before he heard a familiar voices coming close.

"Hey guys!"

The duo turned around to see the gang, Hunk, Pidge, Allura, Matt, Shiro, and lastly Keith. Lana started mumbling to herself and he smiled at her. He waved at them and most of them smiled, but Keith just stared.

"Hey, What's up. Are you studying or what?" Lana grumbled in a bored tone, the group stopping in front of them.

"No, we jut came here to hang out when we saw you and we decided to come over." Allura said smiling. He nodded and got up to look for a good book.

"I'll be back. Imma find a book really quick." He signed and Lana nodded, he waved to the group and they smiled back at him.

"If you find more then one can you bring one for me? I wanna see what's so interesting." Lana laughed, he nodded and smiled leaving the group behind to find something good to read.

Lance started walking away and Lana looked back at the group.

"So what's up?" Lana asked, she stared at the group who was just standing there.

"What do you mean?" Allura asked, the group looking at the girl like she grew a second head.

"You guys never come to library. I mean never." Lana said glaring, the group looked at each other and shrugged.

"We just wanted to hang out." Pidge said and Lana nodded. Turning back around in her chair. Lance came up to the table and waved, Lana continued to stare at them cautiously. She  had a bad feeling about this and she didn't know why.
