Storm paced back & forth in the police station, waiting for Jake to be freed. It had been two hours since Jake & Malik's fight, but she had only gotten there 30 minutes ago, since she still couldn't get off work after the incident. It would've been too obvious, and she definitely didn't want to get fired after only being an official employee for one day.
After getting off, she grabbed Jake's things from his desk & headed straight to the police department, posting his bail. Now all she could do was wait.
As Storm continued to pace, Jake walked out with his suit jacket in hand. Storm immediately stopped pacing and ran up to him, hugging him.
"Are you okay?" She asked, letting him go, observing his face. He had a couple of scratches and marks on him, but otherwise he looked fine.
"I'm fine," He said, chuckling a little as Storm continued to observe him like a concerned mom.
"What the hell happened?" Jake shrugged.
"I don't know. I guess he noticed me & you were together & he got all batshit when I walked in to take my pictures," Jake said, lying through his goddamn teeth. Storm scoffed. She could believe it, since he was jealous of D'Angelo when they were together & D'Angelo & her were only friends.
"I can't believe him!! Imma put him in his mutherfucking place!!" Storm said, before turning towards the door. Jake's eyes widened & he grabbed her before she walked away.
"Baby, forget him, okay? I think I put him in his place well enough today," Jake said, smirking. Storm sighed. "Everything is fine, okay?" Storm nodded. But she would be going to check Malik. She'd be damned if anybody but her ruined this relationship. Jake kissed her forehead before grabbing her right hand & leading her to the door. "Now come on."
"Where are we going?" Storm asked as she walked outside.
"Back to Salesforce. The man in charge wants to talk to me & i'm pretty sure I'm going to be searching for a job soon." That pissed Storm off more. Not only was Malik messing with her relationship, he was also fucking with Jake's job. He was definitely going to get an unpleasant visit from her soon.
D'Angelo had 20 minutes until class started. He walked downtown with a McDonalds bag in his hand, headphones in. He dug in his bag to get a fry out when he saw Malik walk out a building with a chick who couldn't be that much older than him.
D'Angelo sighed, over how small Chicago was. He kept walking, getting closer to Malik who looked visibly pissed as he talked to the woman. Being nosey, D'Angelo took one headphone out & paused the music.
"Malik you should stay away from her then. Your life ain't worth it."
"What about hers? If he around here threatening to kill me, why should I not be worried about what he might do to Storm?!?"
"What?!?" D'Angelo said, snatching his other headphone out & walking towards Malik & the girl. Malik looked at him weirdly.
"D'Angelo?" Malik asked confused. He hadn't seen this nigga this much in damn near two years, now he was appearing every other week.
"Who gon do what to Storm?" D'Angelo asked. He was all for the bullshit when it came to Storm.
"Who is this?" The girl asked confused.
"Storm's other ex," Malik said, giving her a knowing look. She formed an 'o' with her mouth, looking away.
"What's happening with Storm?!?" D'Angelo asked again, getting impatient.
"Nothing. At least nothing I know of."
"Why you worried about somebody threatening you threatening her?" D'Angelo asked.
"Because he's her new nigga or something & he seems crazy." D'Angelo furrowed his eyebrows.
"New nigga?" Malik sighed, before deciding to tell D'Angelo the whole story from the beginning. D'Angelo had questions.
"White? She fucking a white boy?"
"A crazy one, it seems," The girl said, doing something on her phone.
"You one of Storm's friends or something?" D'Angelo asked.
"Nah, this my big sister," Malik said. "But that doesn't matter. What matters is what we gon do about this white dude."
"Shit imma-"
"What this sounds like is that yall two exes that just want a reason to break them up," Malik's big sister said to the two.
"How?!?" Malik asked.
"If he out here threatening him then why would he not be threatening her?!?" D'Angelo asked, already not liking Malik's sister.
"Maybe he is. Or maybe, he just wants you to stay away from his girlfriend. 9 times out of 10, he knows yall history & he tryna protect her lil feelings or whatever. Storm can handle herself. Yall aint spoken in damn near a year and a half, and apparently she's doing good for herself." Neither one of the men said anything. She could've been right, but the 'what-if's' were still floating around in their heads.
However, D'Angelo couldn't sit there & ponder about it. He had to get to class.
"Look I'll figure this out & inbox you or something but I gotta go," D'Angelo said, walking away, hoping Storm wasn't in trouble.
Malik sighed, looking at his sister. She sighed.
"Malik, I don't think those the problems you want."
"But Storm-"
"Will be fine," She said, starting to walk away. "Let it go man."
Malik shook his head, following her. He would let it go, for now.
"It's okay Storm," Jake said, unlocking his apartment door. "I'll easily find another job."
"Yeah but you shouldn't have to!!" Storm exclaimed, kicking her shoes off as she walked into the apartment. "Ugh, me and my bullshit is ruining lives again!!" She walked over & plopped down on the couch, throwing her head back. She was so over it. Jake locked the door & took off his shoes, walking over to the couch & sitting next to Storm.
"It's not. It's your ex's bullshit and my life is not ruined," Jake said, rubbing her thigh.
"But-" Storm started, raising her head up.
"But nothing." Storm sighed, throwing her head back again.
"Fine." Jake stood up.
"You're so stressed. You need to let go some of that tension," He said, squatting between her legs. Storm lifted her head up as Jake parted her legs.
"What are you doing?" Jake smirked as wrapped his hands around her waist, pulling her body down some. "Jake im not in the-" Storm interrupted herself with a moan as Jake attached his lips to her other lips & went to work.
Then he pulled back. "Let me relax you, baby. You know we still have to celebrate you at your new job," He said before reattaching his lips. Storm sighed in bliss, letting him do what wanted. She would definitely need to be as relaxed as possible before she saw Malik because otherwise, she would be in jail next.
