"How would your boss & co-workers describe you?" Adam, Storm's department leader asked. Storm was sitting in on a job interview over Skype, taking notes. One day she would probably be a department leader & this would be one of her many responsibilities, so she needed to know how to conduct it.
But, she wasn't really paying attention. One, it was really boring & two, what Malik had told her days ago still lingered in her head. She hadn't spoken to Jake nor Malik that night, and it wasn't like Malik was reaching out to her anyways. However, Jake did, and she knew if he popped up once, he would pop up again.
Storm couldn't find a way to break it off without making him lose his shit. She still didn't know what he had exactly went to jail, and she didn't want to personally find out. She didn't know what to do. She was terrified.
But luckily, she had somebody to talk to about it.
Since Storm didn't want to put her best friends in harm's way, she continued to confide in D'Angelo. And D'Angelo tried to be there for her as much as he possibly could.
Storm had told him not to reach out to his old connections, but he was really contemplating on it. In all the years he had known Storm, she wasn't scared of anything. For something to scare her like that, meant it needed to be gotten rid of. And as he said before, he would do whatever for Storm.
The Skype job interview ended & Adam asked Storm for her opinion and what she learned. Storm quickly came up with some shit on the top of her head & Adam nodded in agreement, before dismissing her back to her desk.
Storm couldn't wait to get off work. It was Friday & lord knows she needed the weekend.
Malik put the finishing touches on his portfolio before emailing them to Black Pyramid, Chris Brown's clothing company.
He had tagged them on Instagram in his posts of him wearing their clothes, and they had dm'ed him to email his portfolio to them.
Malik was probably finally getting his big break. He just hoped that he stayed alive for it.
It was a knock on his door & he furrowed his eyebrows before walking over & looking out the peephole. It was Storm.
He let out a breath of relief as he opened the door.
"You can't just be popping up unannounced, you know your crazy ass boyfriend trying to kill me," Malik said as she walked in past him.
"Please," Storm said, over hearing about Jake. Malik closed & locked his door.
"What's up? What you doing here?" Malik asked as he followed her into the living room. What was Storm doing there? She shouldn't have gone over there at all, after he had basically called her a hoe. But Malik had more answers on Jake than she did, so there she was.
"What did Jake go to jail for?" Storm asked, folding her arms. Malik shrugged.
"It never came up. Does it matter? He's white, it's probably not something as simple as a drug charge," Malik stated before plopping down on the couch next to his computer. "He probably beat up his last girlfriend. But knowing you, that probably gets you wet," He said sarcastically.
"Oh my god!! Stop!! Just fucking stop Malik!!" Storm yelled, over his bullshit.
"Stop what? Telling the truth?" Malik asked standing back up.
"Stop with your little unnecessary comments!! What the hell is your problem?!? Why are you so mad at me for popping my pussy for the man that's still my boyfriend?!?"
"You take so much pride in being that crazy ass nigga's girlfriend," Malik said sarcastically, making Storm scream out in frustration.
"You keep saying slick shit!! Speak the fuck up if you have a problem!!" Storm yelled.
