Both Malik & D'Angelo were in comas.

D'Angelo had slipped into one instantly after he had been shot, while Malik went into one during surgery.

All three of the bullets that had hit D'Angelo had exited his body as quickly as they entered, which was great for him.

But for Malik, the bullet hadn't exited immediately so the surgeons had to get it out. Hence, him going into a coma during surgery.

Now, it was up to them if they would wake up.

2 & 1/2 weeks passed without anything changing. Their loved ones were there day & night. Stormi was there, as much as she could be.

She still had to work, she was still too new at her job to be taking days off. She couldn't afford to lose it, especially if there was a possibility she may have had to be a single mother.

If the baby was Malik's.

She had decided after thinking for two weeks that if the baby was Malik's, she would keep it. Well actually, she still wasn't sure about that, but she was leaning towards it.

But if it was Jake's, an abortion would be happening expeditiously.

Speaking of Jake, turns out everyone was right thinking it was him. His family had confessed to the police, with no hesitation because they felt that he was stupid for shooting people over a woman.

So much for family loyalty.

However, Jake had all but disappeared off the face of the earth. Which meant he was still out there. And that worried Storm.

Storm had a lot of worries.

Storm sat in D'Angelo's hospital room by herself, staring at the envelope in her hand.

She really wished that the test would say that D'Angelo was the father, but that was impossible.

It would've been so much easier though.

Easier than having to tell him, if she woke up, that she was having a baby by another man after she aborted theirs. Easier than having to put herself through an abortion if it wasn't Malik's.

But life could never be easy for her.

Storm stopped stalling and quickly opened the envelope before pulling the results out.

She quickly scanned it before a number caught her eye.

Probability of paternity: 99.9998%

Storm's eyes pooled with tears as she put the paper down on the chair next to her.

It was Malik's.

She felt relieved, happy & sad all at the same time.

She looked over at D'Angelo's lifeless body before biting her lip & standing up, walking over to his bed. She climbed in the bed next to him, put his right arm on top of his stomach before laying her head on his chest.

D'Angelo's hand twitched a little & Storm stared at it for a moment before sighing.

He had been doing that ever since he had been in the coma, so it was nothing to get her hopes up over.

Storm listened to his heartbeat for a while before speaking.

"I think i'm going to keep the baby." She got silence in response, of course. So she kept talking like she had been doing. "I know you've been listening, or maybe you haven't, to me contemplating on what I should do, but I think I should. Because if Malik doesn't pull through, that'll be the only part of him I have left. And, after what happened the last time I got an abortion..." Storm trailed off before biting her lip. "I just think I should keep it." Storm looked up at D'Angelo's face. He looked so peaceful with his eyes closed. "I really hope you won't be mad at me when you wake up." If he woke up. "Because you're still the one I want. You're the one I want to marry." Storm's lip quivered & she wiped away a few tears that slipped. "Please wake up so we can get married."
