Storm left her grandmother's house after hanging with her for awhile & headed home. When she walked in the house, she saw her mother walking downstairs in her robe followed by a handsome dark skin man who looked like he had on the same clothes from the previous night.
Storm smirked, folding her arms as her mother jumped.
"Oh hey Storm," She said giving her a nervous smile.
"Hey ma," Storm said smirking. Both the man & her mother looked uncomfortable. "Are you gonna introduce me to your friend?"
Shawnta rolled her eyes sighing. "Storm this is Darryl, Darryl this is my nosey ass daughter Storm."
Storm waved smirking & Darryl waved back awkwardly.
"Now if you excuse us, he was just leaving," Shawnta gritted. Storm put her hands up in surrender before heading into the kitchen to get some water. She heard the front door open before it closed again & the sound of her mother's house shoes got louder as she walked in the kitchen.
Storm took a sip of her water before saying something to her mother.
"Darryl huh?" She asked, smirking.
"D'Angelo & Malik huh?" Her mother shot back, causing the smirk on her face to fall.
"You're not funny," Storm said as she headed out the kitchen. Shawnta let out a laugh as Storm headed up the stairs, once again thinking about what happened with her & Malik.
Later that day, Storm sat in her room on her iPad. The 'Everything Is Love' album by the Carters played in the background as she colored away.
She was in her creative mode, and she rarely went into creative mode anymore. She knew she had to get it out while she could. Storm paused, looking at the sketch for a moment before coloring again. She was in the zone, and it made her happy. She had been drawing since 4th grade. It was a good hobby to have, and fun. The opposite of her Business Administration major.
Storm was so in her zone that she didn't notice when D'Angelo walked into her room. He smirked, biting his lip at how cute Storm looked when she was concentrated.
She squinted at the iPad even though she had on glasses, and she bit her lip as she colored. She had her hair tied up with a big white t-shirt on. Overall, she looked happier than she looked earlier, and that made him happy.
"Look at my little picssso," D'Angelo said goofily, making Storm laugh as she stopped typing.
"You're so annoying," Storm said as D'Angelo came & sat next to her on the bed. "Ew get off my bed with your outside clothes on!!"
"Shut up," D'Angelo replied before leaning in to give her a kiss. Then he pulled back as Storm smiled. "You so fine g."
Storm giggled. "You are too."
"What you doing? Tryna make the next Mona Lisa?" D'Angelo asked, glancing at her iPad. Storm locked it.
"Damn you nosy."
"Damn I can't see your drawings?" He asked, fake offended. Storm shook her head, laughing. D'Angelo waved her off, falling back on the bed. Storm climbed over him, holding her iPad, and put it on her desk. Then she turned her Bluetooth speaker down some before climbing back into the bed.
D'Angelo kicked his shoes off & got more comfortable, looking over at Storm.
"What song is this?" D'Angelo asked, playing with the hem of Storm's shirt. The Carters' album was still playing.
"713."
Ain't no way to stop this love
Ain't no space if everything is love"This song decent," D'Angelo stated. Storm nodded agreeing. It was quiet as the two listened to the music, both their minds wondering.
I never knew a lo-, lo-, lo-, love like this
Gotta be special for me to write this
Queen, I ain't mean no disrespect"Are you gon tell me why you looked like you had been crying all night?" D'Angelo asked, still playing with the hem of Storm's shirt. Storm silently sighed. She knew it was coming.
"I really don't want to..."
"Storm you tell me everything g. Let's not start with the secrets now." Storm looked over at D'Angelo & he instantly regretted what he said.
"Secrets huh?" Storm asked, tilting her head to the side. He licked his lips.
"Forget I said that shit. But for real. What happened?" Storm shook her head. D'Angelo sighed thinking about it for a second. "Was it something with dude ass?" He was referring to Malik. Storm didn't say anything. She just played with her hands, which meant a yes. "I'll go shoot his ass if it makes you feel better," D'Angelo said, sitting up, dead serious.
Storm let out a laugh grabbing him. "Stop. I'm good. Don't fret." He gave her a look. "Just lay with me." D'Angelo sighed before obeying her. Storm laid her head on top of his chest & the two once again got lost in their thoughts as Jay Z rapped in the background.
To all the good girls that love hustlers
To the mothers that put up with us
To all the babies that suffered cause us
We only know love because of ya
America is a motherfucka to us, lock us up, shoot us
Shoot our self esteem down, we don't deserve true love
Black queen, you rescued us, you rescued us, rescued usD'Angelo's snores were what woke Storm up. She rubbed the crust out of her eyes before looking up at him, seeing him sleep with an arm behind his head and the other around her. She sat up, looking for her phone. She found it under her pillow & looked at the time. It was 2 in the morning.
The lights were still on & 'Everything Is Love' was still on repeat. She looked over at D'Angelo, who still had on his outside clothes. She shook her head before climbing out of the bed to turn off the speaker & light.
"Where you going?" D'Angelo asked in a raspy voice. He sounded so good. Storm looked over & saw him rubbing his eyes.
"Turning off everything." He didn't say anything. He just turned over & went back to sleep.
Storm turned off everything & climbed back in the bed. D'Angelo wrapped his arm around her, pulling her closer. And within another minute, the two had gone back to sleep, dreaming of a future together.
