"That was unnecessary," Storm said as she & Lola stood up in the theater. They had just finished seeing 'Hobbs & Shaw.'
"Girl, that movie was good, fuck what you talking about," Lola said & Storm snickered.
"You're such a nigga at heart," Storm said & Lola smirked.
"I'm trying to be your nigga," She said with a wink & Storm laughed.
"Goodbye." Lola laughed before the two put their arms around each other, walking out of the theater.
In the lobby, it was a bunch of people. The Cinemark in Melrose Park was always like that, though. That was the closest movie theater to Bellwood & Maywood, so that's where everyone went.
Even though some people had other theaters closer to their house.
Lola frowned up as she spotted a familiar face. "Isn't that D'Angelo?" Storm looked to where Lola was looking & low & behold.
D'Angelo was standing in line at the concession stand.
With another bitch.
And not just any bitch.
It was Arianna. The mother of D'Angelo's deceased daughter, or to put it simply, the reason why D'Angelo & Storm broke up initially.
"Bitch, that's..." Lola looked at Storm & Storm bit her lip, holding back her anger.
"Yeah, it is."
Storm couldn't be mad. He wasn't her boyfriend. They weren't even anywhere near that level; they were just friends.
It had been a month since Storm had broken up with Jake & she still was trying to figure out what she wanted. She still was torn between Malik & D'Angelo. So, while she figured that out, her & D'Angelo agreed just to be friends while her & Malik... well they weren't friends, but they weren't into it either. They just didn't talk as much as her & D'Angelo.
Malik was tired of the back & forth, which was understandable.
However, what wasn't understandable was why in the hell D'Angelo was out with Arianna, and why at the Melrose Park theater of all places?
His house was closer to the AMC theater on Central than it was to the Cinemark.
"Do you want to leave now?" Lola asked, worried about her friend, but Storm shook her head.
"Nope," She said, removing her arm from around her friend. "Let's go say 'hi.'" Lola's eyes widened as Storm started walking over there before she quickly followed.
Meanwhile, D'Angelo was talking to Arianna.
"You still like M&M's & shit?" He asked & she chuckled.
"You still remember that?"
"Shit as much as you used to ask for them while you were pregnant with Miya, it's hard to forget. Soon as I got out of school, yo ass callin' me talkin' bout 'the baby is craving M&M's.' The baby wasn't craving shit; it was yo ass." Both of them laughed, remembering her pregnancy. They couldn't stand each other then, probably cause of all of the drama, but D'Angelo was there for every step of the way.
As their laughter died down, D'Angelo saw Storm & Lola walking over to them, and he immediately hoped that everything that happened in the past could stay there.
"Storm's coming over," He mumbled to Arianna & Arianna looked back just as Storm had walked up. "Wassup Storm?"
"Hey, you two," Storm said, smiling, but it was fake as fuck. She was trying to keep it as peaceful as possible in public.
