Claire, Sarah, and Jasmine decided to go to Jill's performance tonight for her theatre class. They found seats in the auditorium after Ms.Romanov handed them each programs at the entrance.
"Ewwww, I don't even like plays, they're for weird people. And I don't like that Jill's going to prom with Sherman, he's so ewwwww," Jasmine said. She crumpled up her program and threw it under her seat. "And she's hanging out with Elizabeth Ramsey now. What is wrong with her lately?"
"I feel you. I mean, they are pretty odd people," Claire said, "but we're here for Jill."
Sarah yawned. "This is how long? Can we leave Jill behind after her scenes? Sherman'll probably take her home anyway. I'm feeling Chinese."
"Ewwwww, I hate Chinese," Jasmine said.
"We'll get it from the good place that doesn't put food that falls on the floor back into the buffet," Sarah said. "Claire?"
"Actually, let's get some food now and come back before this starts and Jill will think we're here the whole time," Claire said.
The other two girls agreed with her. They quickly left the audtiorium and went out the doors to the parking lot, but not without running into a couple of people that they didn't want to necessarily see.
"Hi, Mr. and Mrs.Goody," said Sarah as the girls slipped past them. "Sherman is very talented, I can't wait to see him. We came to see Jill. Can't wait."
"Then where are you girls going?" Sherman's rather young mother asked them. Mrs.Goody looked even younger than the reverend. "It starts in twenty minutes."
"To get food and stuffs. We'll be right back," Claire said.
The awkward moment when they don't come back. And when Jill found out that her friends left after a text from Sarah.
Ms.Romanov organized the class in the small dressing room previously before she headed out to the auditorium to hand out programs. They were trying to get some last minute practicing in. Jill sat alone on a chair until Sherman came in.
"Uh, Jill, why did your friends just leave? Don't they know we're going to be starting?" Sherman asked.
"I don't know. Sarah told me a minute ago they were going to get some food and I don't think they're coming back," said Jill. "So now nobody's here for me."
"Oh, you don't deserve that."
"It's okay because who needs them? I don't! I feel like everyone's avoiding me for some reason." This made Jill recall all of Austin Townsend's staring at her and not saying anything. It was like he took a thousand steps backwards, but for some reason Jill didn't care.
"I completely understand," said Sherman. "Uh?"
"Uh what?"
Sherman pointed to Mick and Mitchie, once again all over each other and the theatre class' favorite "should-be" couple. "They got over it so fast," he mentioned.
