"I don't even know who she is," Reverend Goody admitted to Sherman and Jill when they were in his home for dinner before the show. "But I do know is that he's going to see her tonight at your guys' thing."
"Our performance?" Jill asked just to clarify.
"Yes," Reverend Goody replied.
As Mrs.Goody washed dishes as everyone started finishing, she expressed her love of theatre. "Back in the day, it was my dream to be a Broadway actress. I used to be the full package. I sung, I acted, I danced. I was a triple threat. How'd I end up in Dunville?"
Jill laughed in response to her. "At least it's not Graymoor."
"Graymoor to Dunville. Now the only place where a five minute drive is worth all the difference," Reverend Goody said. "So, when are you guys heading out?"
Sherman answered, "We need to sign in at six and the performance is seven thirty. So maybe we'll leave in ten to twenty minutes."
"Where's Eileen?" Mrs.Goody asked.
"I'm guessing she doesn't want to go," Sherman said.
Just then, Eileen Goody popped into the scene. "Of course not. Why would I? I never go, why would I want to go now? So, Jill, you decided not to have his ugly baby?"
Mrs.Goody gasped. "Eileen!"
"It's okay, Mrs.Goody..." Jill then let it out to the rest of the Goody's. "I don't know how to raise a child. I know I won't be able to manage it. For its own good, I'm just going to let it go. No offense, Mrs.Goody."
"It's alright, Jill. I don't personally believe in abortion and I know you don't either, but if it's what's best....I guess you're right. It will be for the better," Mrs.Goody said. But she looked like she was going to burst into tears. "But that's my future grandchild."
"Mom! It's Jill's choice," Sherman said. Again, he felt quite responsible for all of this.
"I know, I know."
Turning to Jill, Sherman asked her with a smile, "Do you want to go up to my room for a minute? I mean, before we have to go? Do you wanna prepare a bit more?"
"You bet I wanna prepare a bit more," Jill flirtatiously said.
She didn't think he literally wanted to prepare a bit more.
He threw props and their changes of clothes for the performance later tonight at her. "See, I didn't know you actually wanted to prepare," Jill said.
"Oh, now I gotcha," Sherman said. "Jill, my parents are right downstairs!"
"Come on we're about to save Graymoor, might as well add to the excitement. Sound promising?" Jill said as she stuffed their outfit changes and props into a duffle bag. "Huh? Huh?"
Sherman bit his lip. "That does sound promising.....okay! On the way there though, okay?"
"Good, I need my fix before going onstage."
"And I need my fix before we catch the mayor getting his fix with the mystery woman!" Sherman said, raising his fist in the air. "I can't believe we're going to do this. We're like conspiracy busters. Wow, what an adrenaline rush!"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold off on that adrenaline rush for now, Shermpants," Jill said.
Back to being serious, Sherman said, "But how are we going to do it? What if we don't actually find her? How are we going to keep a lookout when we're supposed to be rehearsing in the dressing rooms?"
Then, Jill got the idea of a lifetime. "Austin Townsend. He said he might go."
"Austin?" Sherman hated to admit it, but he was sort of wary of Austin. All the way back when Jill first joined the church choir, Sherman suspected she had a thing for him. Even up to just recently when he heard that Claire and Austin were the ones to fetch her from her aunt's after getting kicked out of town.
